COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The once strongest beer in the world is back ! Brewed only once a year on December 6. Samichlaus is aged for 10 months before bottling. This beer is perhaps the rarest in the world. Samichlaus may be aged for many years to come. Older vintages become more complex with a creamy warming finish. Serve with hardy robust dishes and desserts, particulary with chocolates, or as an after dinner drink by itself. Brewed under the exclusive licence of Feldschlösschen-Hürlimann-Holding, Switzerland.

Bottle pour. Dark, ruby brown in glass. Thin, tan head. Does not last long. Aroma of candied dark fruits, dense holiday cakes, and booze. Thick and viscous. Taste is mostly sweet, toeing the treacle line, but never crossing. Alcohol is there on the palate, but is never a distraction. Drinks more like liqueur. Sticks to the gums. Enjoyed, but once a year is enough.

Pours good ruby red colour with good off-white head. Aroma has fruit, raisin. Taste was very sweet and was a bit overpowering for me. Mashed high or too much undissolved unsugars?

12 oz bottle shared by Spencer. The pour is a thin golden amber with a thin collar of head. The aroma is very sweet. There is a strong maltiness and a moderate booziness that is surprising. The flavor is very similar. It's very sweet. There is a light booziness coming back, but it's pretty bland. I'm not overly impressed with this. The loud feel is thin and light with a lack of carbonation that makes it seem really light. The aftertaste is lingeringly sweet ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tomada en Cerveceria Kraken. Oviedo Potente cerveza austríaca. 14° Sabor alicorado. Color rojizo. Poca espuma. Densa, afrutada, mejor dejar calentar un poco. Parece un jerez. Para disfrutar lentamente.

2014 bottle. Pours clear ruby brown with almost no head. Aroma of sweet caramel malts and sugar. Taste is similar, but overly sweet. Maybe it’s my lack of knowledge concerning this style, but its too much. I see the good reviews, but this is too sweet for me.

Deep copper color, small white head. Aroma of raisins, vanilla, caramel. Strong body, strong, warm alcoholic mouthfeel, not nasty at all. Sweet taste, with licorice, caramel, dark fruits. Warm, sweet finish.

Bottle (s, many) at Seattle Share. Vertical tasting of 2000, 2001, 2003 and 2006 bottles. Rating is from 2000. Deep hazed brown, small creamy alc-lacing head. Deep coffee, soy, sugary syrup. Brown sugar, molasses. Newer years have less soy and are more sweet, and lighter in color and body.

Bottle, 2000 vintage, much thanks to Eugene for sharing. Pours a near black color with no head. Super sweet graham cracker aroma. Really thick mouthful with spice and plum. I’ll chocolate. Super smooth flavor. Very different for the style in my opinion. Awesome beer.
