COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The once strongest beer in the world is back ! Brewed only once a year on December 6. Samichlaus is aged for 10 months before bottling. This beer is perhaps the rarest in the world. Samichlaus may be aged for many years to come. Older vintages become more complex with a creamy warming finish. Serve with hardy robust dishes and desserts, particulary with chocolates, or as an after dinner drink by itself. Brewed under the exclusive licence of Feldschlösschen-Hürlimann-Holding, Switzerland.

This incredibly potent bier is deep orange and perfectly transparent. A small pale head quickly disperses, but the mild carbonation remains. Aromas of fruit and malt with a dose of alcohol. On the palate, Samichlaus is dominated with molasses, sweet malt, and alcohol. An incredible nightcap that will warm on the way down with a lingering flavor I tasted for minutes after each sip.

Pours a rusty amber color with great clarity, tiny rising bubbles and a finger of eggshell foam. Nose is sweet buckwheat honey, toasted malt, candy corn. Palate follows with a healthy dose of sweetness, bitterness and a clean finish. Layers of caramel corn, burnt toffee, molasses, some earth tobacco and leather poke through as the finish dries out with some boozy raisin and lingering bitter tea notes.

Sweetness, yeast, and some fruit and a lot of alcohol in fragrance. The flavor of licorice, light chocolate, sweetness and alcohol. Sure there are malty flavor too. Feels like they’re trying to hide the alcohol but did not succeed. Heavy bitterness that fills the mouth for a long while. Not really impressed with this beer. UPDATED: JAN 17, 2015 2014 330ml bottle. Pours a bright, clear, deep, caramel/ruby with a thin head that fades to a ring quickly. Aroma has big notes of sweet caramel, dark fruits, bread, some mild spices, and a touch of alcohol. Taste is sweet with lots of caramel and brown sugar at the beginning, then some dark fruits and peppery spice mid way, and a drawn out, warm alcohol ending. Full body with a low-medium carbonation. Syrup texture in the mouth with a dry finish. Overall a huge here. Sweet to taste with caramel, dark fruits, spice, and alcohol. Now to see how it ages.

God smak. Torkad frukt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Too sweet for my taste. Definitely a dessert beer. Use the dessert to cut the sweetness.
