330mL bottle purchased from LCBO in Toronto. Pours a poor fizzy pale gold. Little head and no lacing. Decent malty aroma. First taste is sweet. Very sweet. The taste remains syrupy throughout. The malts don’t balance out the sweetness and the hops are not noticeable. Not an enjoyable beer.

Clear golden color, bubbly off-white head. Sweet, grainy, malty and alcohol scent. A bit lactic also. Sweet, malty, metallic but mostly dominating alcohol taste. Also lactic and some smoke, phenoles. Smooth mouthfeel, low bitterness.

Jul 9, 2008 Bottle. Best before 2004. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. Sweet malty spicy yeasty fruity aroma. Sweet warming malty spicy flavor with hints of dark fruit. Has a sweet malty spicy finish.

Jul 6, 2008 Bottled 33cl. It pours a deep golden beer. The nose is of wax, honey, grapefruit and apricot. Full bodied. Superb mouthfeel. Hints of honey, grapefruit, wax and apricot in the taste. Milky with some coconuts showing up. Perfectly balanced. Unpleasant dry finish with a hint of onion.

Jul 5, 2008 33cl bottle from Total Wine (Tampa, FL). Pours a hazy golden amber color with a white, creamy one-finger white head that diminishes rapidly. Aroma is sweet malt, honey, caramel, spice. Strong phenol notes present. Flavor is bready, wheaty and doughy with notes of sweet malt, fresh hay and caramel. Medium-bodied with a slight syrupy texture. Slight sourness on finish.

Jul 5, 2008 Pours a beautiful medium golden in the tulip glass. Tight head with an intense malty sweet nose. A hefty caramel body with mellowed hop touches at end of mouthfeel. Big and balanced but you certainly know this is no wee brew. alcohol is not predominant but it is staring at you with arms crossed. dont drink this one as the first f the day or your day may be ruined.
