sliffy (1966), Columbus, Ohio, USA Apr 25, 2007 Bottle shared by nolankowal: Pours a clear golden color with a white head. Aroma, yeasty, some pale malts, a bit of spice. Flavor, pale, bready malts, yeasty, some faint spices, a bit of alcohol, but nothing overpowering. thewolf (5662), Kolding, Denmark Apr 22, 2007 Bottle. Nice golden colour, medium white bubbly head. Malty aroma, some honey and a little alcohol spicyness. Spritzy mouthfeel. Vinious, slightly metallic, sweet with a caramel edge. Nice and powerful. josuemucho (86), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 19, 2007 Pours a golden color. Malt, honey, and alcohol in aroma. Malt, alcohol, with hints of caramel in taste. Malt liquor like. Could see the comparison to Cognac. Very strong tasting like its brother Samichlaus Sincere (145), wichita, Kansas, USA Apr 8, 2007 12 oz bottle pours a light golden blonde with medium activity carbonation and a quickly fading white head. The aroma is that of raisins, cinnamon, dough and alcohol. The taste is incredible, having both strong citrus and floral aspects. The endtaste is that of honeydew with a slightl earth and grass combination. It is very silky and floats on the tongue. MrBunn (1521), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 6, 2007 Bottle. Pour is a deep golden color... minimal head and medium to high carbonation. Aromas are sweet like apple juice. Looking at the description on the site here, I’m pretty excited about trying the "cognac of beers." I’ve already had the "champagne of beers," so this is a lovely new feather in my cap. Flavor is decidedly sweet... apple juice sweetness with some honey mixed in for good measure. Mouthfeel is very silky, but the carbonation mixes things up a bit. I’d say this is much closer to cognac than Miller is to champagne. Alcoholic warmth is present and it flaunts its 9% ABV a little bit. Things don’t transition so well, though and it kind of falls flat at the end of the finish... just comes off strong and sweet, without too much to capture my interest. SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Apr 4, 2007 In the 330 mL bottle from Beertopia. pours an iridescent gold color. This is quite the fizzy one with lots of huge bubbles produced. As such, it generates a seemingly porous white head of these large caveolae. has a lemon-pineapple aroma. Some honey mixed in there to boot. This is a fairly harsh beer to drink at first. It has a big unapologetic level of alcohol. After this tissue fixation, some honet sweetness and mild bitterness reappears. This is a fairly peppery beer. Unfortunately, it is just over the top with too much ethanol. It burns the esophagus and stomach. The palate is harsh and unbalanced. It’s just not fun to drink. This may actually be an overrated brew. psark (49), Binghamton, New York, USA Mar 23, 2007 Very sweet. Chewy like honey. Pooh would really like it but Tigger wouldn’t. Coying and the alcoholic bite is not enough. No transition from the original sweet taste to the alcohol. It is the first time I grimmaced today. But I wasn’t so hurting like the guy to my left that I didn’t finish it. MoritzF (4863), Bochum, Germany Mar 19, 2007 (33cl bottle) Clear, amber colour with a small, eggshell-coloured foamy head. Sweet, toast-malty aroma with a touch of honey and a Cognac-like, not unpleasant alcoholic touch. Very sweet flavour, chewy malty, moderately toasted taste, honey-ish fruity with light notes of caramel; sweet malt-liqueur-like, but aromatic finish with a good length and a more than noticeable but also non-disturbing alcohol.
