clear gold with no head. aroma of apple juice with hints of caramel and pears. flavor is dominated by caramel. notes of honey. malty and sweet. light-med bodied. sweet but not cloying. just enough alcohol to warm the throat but not over the top such as samiclaus. very nice.

Bottle. Amber color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate toffee malty aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Medium sweet balanced flavor with a medium sweet finish of long duration. This is a solid drinkable beer.

Pours a golden yellow color with a generous, almost white head that turns to an almost marshmallowy texture after fading a bit. Scent is lightly spiced, yeasty and malty, with alcohol. A clean, sharp scent. The first flavor is primarily metallic, with a mild, pruney taste. After a few sips, a sweet, dark character sets in. Alcohol warmth is strong, and it doesn’t go very well with the metallic tinge. The mouthfeel is smooth, and carbonation is just right. Leaves an alcohol-laced, candyish aftertaste. I don’t like this one so much -- the alcohol flavor is too up-front, and the fruitiness is dark and musty. I can tell this is a nicely-crafted beer, and I’m trying to score accordingly, but it doesn’t quite suit my taste.

Crystal clear golden color with creamy off white head. Nice malty aroma. The smell is mostly pleasing grain and breadiness. Full rich malt flavor. I taste sweet malts that create a dark fruitiness. Also a grain malt flavor that competes with the alcohol taste. Well balance beer.

Draught – Slightly hazy golden body, white head, some laces; Bock like sweet nose, but quite sharp, malt and white sugar; Big full and a little sharp carbonation, soft texture but the carbonation and a slight bitterness makes it sharper then soft ;Medium long finish, again more bitter and sharp then soft.

Golden, with a sweet, fruity alcoholic aroma and taste. Flavour of whisky at the back of the throat and an initial surge of dryness that somehow seems to die away as you drink. Wouldn’t particularly want a session with this. One bottle is enough, I think. Once a year.

From bottle: very good beer, pretty sweet, fruity, a little malty, cherries and berries are there, apples and pears as well, good spicy hoppy bitterness all the way through, some weak mint notes, some warming alcohol which is a bit too noticable, some white port like notes, quite rich and very enjoyable for a winter day.
