| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 30, 2006 Golden, with a sweet, fruity alcoholic aroma and taste. Flavour of whisky at the back of the throat and an initial surge of dryness that somehow seems to die away as you drink. Wouldn’t particularly want a session with this. One bottle is enough, I think. Once a year. YK23 (269), Haifa, Israel

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 19, 2006 Bottle. Rich, fruity, sweet malty nose. Berry, red apple, and almonds. (A-6+).dark gold, almost amber like, smallish white top leaving lace in glass.
Solid, full sized malt base, short but well marked bitterness afterwards. Finish sweet warming blend of sugars and alcohol. Good clean palate. I like that sticky texture on top. With almost 10 % of alcohol this beer is almost too strong but somehow it manages to be classic of decent build.

Sweet nose of pear and other pome fruit, sl. caramel. Fairly full mouth-feel, moderate carbonation, smooth. Bitterness lingers a bit at the end. Sweet, malty, a bit vinous(?). Poured hazy deep golden yellow with small white head. Soft carbonation. Toasted malt aroma. Full-bodied bock with moderate malt sweetness with pronounced toasted/bisquit flavor, almost mead-like in character. Finished with light malt fade. Not much hop presence. Smooth and rich tasting. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Sep 24, 2006 Poured to a golden color with hints of orange, nice thick whitish head thaat reduced to good lacing. Aroma was a mix of malty sweetness and hoppy fruits. Taste was an extension of this mix, and at mid-glass, the alcohol become just noticeable enough in both the aroma and taste to fit in perfectly. A long, smooth, tasty finish topped the whole thing off. This was really a good beer, and I will no doubt have more Urbock 23.
