Aroma is extremely sweet with some weird grainy aroma. Taste is just incredibly sweet with a warming touch of alcohol. I couldn’t honestly pick-up much more then sweetness in this and therefore I probably won’t be revisiting this one-dimensional beer anytime soon. ryan (1775), Beltsville, Maryland, USA

The flavor is green grapes, apricots. Mouthfeel is smooth, but light. Very warm alcohol finish. JK (2949), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 5, 2006 A blond doppelbock. I was afraid of the pending sweetness like Samichlaus; which I couldn’t finish, but this is very drinkable and very good. Gold color; lightly carbonated and no head. Aroma has some light hops and carmel; light smoke and malt; the standard bock aroma but better than average. Flavor is sweet malt; sugar, canned fruit and more light smoke. Appropriately sweet for the style. Very good. jdjuice (203), Japan
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 27, 2006 Too sweet, almost like a Belgian. Finishes with a weird sourness that doesn’t match with the sweetness. Strong alcohol flavor, not hidden particularly well even with extreme sweetness. Other doppelbocks are better. johndoughty (2156), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England

Will re-rate in the future. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA
