robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA Dec 23, 2004 Gold Coloring with White Head. Tasted a Bit Furry..Aroma Reminded Me of my pet Ferret... Some Warming. I Will Try This Again, But For Now, It’s a Disappointment. Dorqui (1353), Brescia, Italy Dec 22, 2004 Enough long-lasting compact foam. Yellow color with tendency to amber. Limpid and dense. Alcohol aroma strongly and malt. To the taste he turns out much sturdy and persistent one, without particular scents but much deciding. skaughty (621), Marietta, Georgia, USA Dec 21, 2004 As a proponent of Eggenberg’s beers, after tasting this I was confused...
How did this come from the same brewery as Samiclaus and the fantastic Eisbock Dunkel?
Alas, I have my answer - all breweries have mops - right? These mops can be used to collect liquid extract, formertly known as beer - right? This extract could be recycled and bottled - right? A trip to the bathroom could provide the adjunct - right?
I guess it is obvious I don’t like this wet-paper, tin-finishing malt liquor. This beer is 1/10th as good as expected - hence the 2.3 rating. stefanberggren (135), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Dec 18, 2004 What can I say about Urbocks, I am fan and deeply committed to them. This pours an effervescent pale color with a light white head. The nose screams of malt and decoction brewing. The taste is heavy on the malt notes with a persistant sweetness and finishes with an alcoholic bite. Slight fruit and fig notes to it. JensenTaster (1585), Denmark Dec 17, 2004 Updated: Jan 11, 2007(on bottle)Deep mustard -yellow/oily color; no head. A sweet sent, allmost bon-bon-like, of malts and alcohol. The mouth is quite round, but is nothing like the kick you get from the finish. POW! Way too much power-hammer-alcohol, really effective. Not complex as a doppelbock should be, just a hammer of alcohol. Should maybe be called the strongest Malt Liquor in the world?
RETASTING(THANX RENÉ) PRE2000 BREW.Aroma of rotten fruits and mold. Fat sugar mouth, the alcohol is gone, leaving tons of barley- and a few clayflavours in one muth. Over the top for sure. kujo9 (1077), North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA Dec 14, 2004 Thin white head on a crystal clear deep golden body. Highly malty aroma w/ som vinous sweet alcohol. Toasty & bready malts, lots of alcohol which is also a little spicy & lightly solventy. Clean otherwise. Well balanced for a big beer. Malty finish w/ some alcohol flavor. Some grapey melanoidins and toasted malt flavors, aftertaste is alcohol and malt. Fuller medium body, lots of warmth, medium carbonation, but smooth. Not terribly complex for a bigger beer and a little too much alcohol character overall to have more than one at a sitting. Nice for a snowy NE Ohio night though. hayden1215 (305), Ohio, USA Dec 6, 2004 Bronze in color with little to no head. Aroma is strong alcohol with notes of fruit and wood. Flavor is stong on the alcohol with some malty notes. The finish will warm you. ThomasE (5179), Copenhagen, Denmark Nov 23, 2004 Golden colour with fairly small white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with hints of hay, the alcohol is evident. Flavor is sweet and malty with a clear taste of alcohol.
