jfm (1694), Holbæk, Denmark May 15, 2004 Golden color with a white head. The taste is malts and alcohol with a light hoppy palate. caesar (3020), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands May 11, 2004 Clear golden color, small white head. Aroma of vinegar, alcohol, some apple. Alcoholic taste, salty vinegar, creamy? How on earth can this crap score over 3.3?! Well, tastes differ i guess. skortila (2879), Bunnik, Netherlands May 10, 2004 Aroma is strong alcoholic and apple-like. Hops present. Pale golden-orange coloured with a thin lasting white head. Taste is alcoholic, hoppy and bitter. Brew is decent but way too alcoholic. Dalle (1146), Skørping, Denmark May 10, 2004 Golden w. small head. Malty-sweet w. hints of vanilla and honey. Alcohol. Medium to full bodied. Pleasent. More whisky than cognac! beerbuzzmontreal (2909), Montreal, Quebec, Canada May 7, 2004 Eeeesh. I’ll be really blunt, this swill is awfull. Amber-red color. Aroma of alcohol and yeast(?). Weak flavor of malt and strong flavor of alcohol. Doesn’t feel like a bock at all. Rockinout (945), Kent, Ohio, USA Apr 29, 2004 Golden amber color, no head. Strong malty alcohol taste. Finished with alcohol. It’s a sipper. maltdog (510), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Apr 26, 2004 Pours deep gold, almost orange; holding it to sunlight, I get a prismatic rainbow on the floor. Large bubbles form a sparse white head that is gone in 60 seconds, and all carbonation disappears not long after that. Overwhelming MALT nose- buttercream icing, caramel and vanilla. Also just the barest, faintest whiff of grass and golden riasins. A quick driveby of lager-y malt flavor collides with a brick wall of honey-herb cough drop, reinforced with burnt sugar bitterness. Mouthfeel is, well, thick. Woody aftertaste with a touch of mint degrades into a flavor somewhere between generic-brand cigarette butt and lawnmower exhaust. Not very complex, and overly bitter for the style; flavor approaches that of cheap nasty scotch Dixen (1465), Flagstaff, Arizona, USA Apr 15, 2004 Clear golden with a fast disappearing white head. The aroma is some citric fruits, hay, some underlying maltiness. The flavor is very alcoholic, malts, citrus. A bit too much alcohol burn.
