Nice golden colour. Sweet smell of alcohol and/or malt, not much in common with other doppelbocks. Light fruity notes. First impression when sippin was "maltliqour..." Not really, but close. Still, this is quality stuff with its elegance and drieness in its long, long warming finish.

Pours a golden color with little to no head. Aroma is vinous. Flavor is sweet and alcoholic. Vinous and fruit coming through. A sipping beer.

Bottled. Dark golden colour, small white head, disappears fast, glass sticking. Sweet nose, at first I smell a strange aroma of fresh cut potatoes, after this, more conventional aromas of fruity, apricot and peach preserved in spirit, malt aroma(bread, potatoes bread), alcohol. Taste is sweet (honey), with a lot of alcohol sweetness. Full body, with an excessive alcohol-feel, rather heavy but easy to drink if compared with similar strong lager beers. It's a beer punch!

(bottle - 330 ml) Clear gold color with a thin white head and mild carbonation. Rather light for a doppelbock. Aroma is rather mild but has a creamy, sweet beginning with some underlying hints of raisins, port, and candy. Very sweet and alcoholic at the start. A lot of sugar and raisin notes begin the flavor with a dry and sweet middle, much like a liqueur. Finishes boozy and sweet with a lot of fruit notes. Alcohol is very dominant and very strong.

Very nice rich gold with almost no head. Sweetish aroma and got some vanilla flavour. Not as sweet as many bocks I’ve had lately which is a good thing. Decent finish and kicks a real punch.

Bottle. Golden/amber colour with a slim white head. Aroma has malt, brown sugar and alcohol. Sweet and malty taste. Low carbonation, chewy-ish mouthfeel, late warming alcohol. Not bad, but rough around the edges.

Golden, with a sweet, fruity alcoholic aroma and taste. Flavour of whisky at the back of the throat and an initial surge of dryness that somehow seems to die away as you drink. Wouldn’t particularly want a session with this. One bottle is enough, I think. Once a year.

Bottle (330ml). Shared with blankboy, GregClow, jerc, tupalev - courtesy of yours truly. Poured clear gold with a very small foamy white head. Aroma is sweet and slightly vegetal, a bit of interesting woodiness on warming. Taste is pretty nice - sugary and oaky, off-dry reisling, and there’s alcohol bitterness on the finish - good winter warmer. Mouthfeel is bitter and astringent and a bit syrupy, although thin. I like it, but it’s a bit like a watered down pale port.
