This exceedingly strong ’cognac of beers’ is well made, I’m quite sure.
I simply don’t have the palate nor the desire to consume cognac nor this strong concoction. almosi (279), Viña del Mar, Chile
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 1, 2008 Has a golden dark color, with a head small and lasting enough. The aroma is strong and sweet, almonds and sweet candy. The flavor is very strong, very malty, but at the same time sweet. Has a bit of bitterness, which one hides behind the caramel. The finish is very sweet and alcoholic. Is sticky and deep, almost it does not look like a beer. matt7215 (1002), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 20, 2008 330 ml bottle from the LCBO. pours golden with a short lived fizzy head that had huge bubbles. soft carbonation. aromas of complex sweet malts with some chewy graininess and noble hops with alcohol coming through at the end. flavours are initial a plesant mix of sweetness, malts and noble hops before the alcohol smacks you in the face. not a bad brew but theres alot i didnt care for. my other bottle will not be opened for a while and we will see if that helps smooth this one out a bit. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 13, 2008 Bottle: Nice light golden pour with absolutely no head. As it sits in the glass you see very .. very little carbonation. Scent is citrus with a big hint of alcohol. Surprising how smooth it is with that much alcohol. afireinside96 (842), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours an orange-amber with some fluffy head. A beer of this gravity with a head is quite a feat. Smells sweet and caramely. Tastes sweet and smooth with a caramel touch. Slightly boozy finish. terrybail (340), London, Ontario, Canada
