Golden colour with coarsish carbonation and a white head that left some lace on the side of the glass. The aroma is an interesting one with classic golden Germanic malts to the fore, some toffee and a bit of a signature ’there’s a fair amount of alcohol here John, I hope you haven’t got much planned for this afternoon’. I say that, but it could be easily overlooked. There’s also some dried orchard fruit aroma as well. Initially bubbly and then the full bodied juicy whack that also brings out caramel and toffee. It is unctuous without being over-sweet. The finish is one that gives a nod to highish alcohols and fruity esters that dries and leaves you with orange oil and mace.

I didn't take any extra notes when I tried this beer for the first time but I'm gonna try it again and update my comments. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rating #1271 - 05.10.2014 - Bottle from CBI. Mild-medium carbonation. Aroma is alcohol, sweet malts, mild vegetal. Taste is toasted malt sweetness leading to a dry, yet balanced finish. Malty sweetness lingers on the pallet leaving you yearning for the waitress to bring another. A strong, golden doppelbock sometimes pales in comparison to the rich, roasty darker brews in this category - this however takes on complexity unimaginable to its colour.

Golden color with thin foam layer. The smell is sweetish and malty. The taste has a cristal sugar sweetness with hints of malt. This beer has a lot of diabetes and a sweetish aftertaste.

Cognac coloured beer with almost no head. Aromas of alcohol, floral and herbal hops, bread, caramel, nuts, honey, plums, toffee, maybe some sweet red berries in the background. In summary, it’s sth between herbal schnaps and cognac. Malty in flavour, spicy and warming alcohol, honey, good amount of hops. Heavy body, but also a bit waterish, slick texture, soft carbonation.

0.33l bottle by Cristobal37. Clear golden body, white head. Aroma of bread, honey, booze and floral hops. Taste of bread, honey, juniper, cloves and floral hops. The alcohol character is quite too obvious, but it’s still decent.

Sweet honey aroma. Gold appearance. The head is not staying a lot. Honey strong taste. This could be a honey beer. But very nice body and palate. I like!!!
