3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance is clear gold, a sort of maple leaf turned early. Bottle hissed with minor carbonation and indeed bubbles are few but steady, leading only to a thin white halo around the top of the glass.
The smell is of alcohol, malt, and sweet iced tea with mint.
Mouth-feel is dense, like caramel syrup. But the carbonation regains life on the tongue, forcing any excessive sweetness away from the tongue and bringing forth a mellow bitterness. This is a complex taste that lingers and coats the back of the throat, warming yourself as it flows down. Internally this is a lively beverage that awakens the intestines, perhaps best suitable as a digestive following a heavy, fall meal. Me thinks it would serve well after dark meat, like lamb or veal. As the temperature drops the malty sweetness becomes more dominant; notice the sugar coat on the lips. Served in a Samichlaus tulip.

Purchased in Austria. Fresh doesn't help this one. Sticky molasses like. Malty. Doesn't pair well with food. Alcohol and sugar flavors. Aroma is earthy and meaty.

Sweet malt aroma. Clear caramel body with very little head. Thick malt feel with a sweet fruit and caramel taste. Warms your palate. This is a one you sip and not gulp. This would be great for taking the chill out of your bones on a damp cool day.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Rock Cafe in Calcata. € 5. The bartender thought I’d gulp this from the bottle, hmm. Pours (into a wine glass I finally got) a clear paleish amber with no head. Real nice burnt caramel and malts on the nose. Tastes very malty and caramelly, not too alcoholic, but the booze is still felt in the throat; it gives off a rather pleasant, and later considerable, warmth. Medium plus carbonation, sticky palate. Body could’ve been a bit tighter and stronger I think. Not too great of a sipper but alright to slowly down while listening to a cool band playing live.

0.3l bottle poured to glass. Looks fine: a little cloudy, amber pint with a little but very durable head. Aroma is very malty, caramel sweet and dough, unfortunatly also alkohol. The taste is very sweet and filling. The palete is ok, full body, oily texture, average carbonation and a long sweet alkohol finish. Overall this isnt what i was expecting from this beer, 23 on plato scale gave me high hope, but although it was only 0.3 bottle the alkohol was so strong and unpleasant that it was hard to finish that beer. If u like very sweet beers, like sugar/caramel sweet with a strong alkohol taste, I could recommend this one.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 9A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L409809. AROMA: strong malty-sweet aroma with a moderate peppery alcoholic background. very faint caramelized notes. no hop aroma. APPEARANCE: deep gold color and translucent. average ivory head with some impared retention from alcohol and lacing. TASTE: sweet malty flavour with faint caramelized notes. moderate-low bitterness with a semi-dry finish. PALATE: medium-full body with a slight velvety texture. moderate-low carbonation. slight alcohol warmth. OVERALL: a nice example of a pale doppelbock.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma and flavour are strangely floral and peppery. Also sweet, syrupy, malty, warming. Not bad for a strong lager. Has plenty of complexity.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
The foam is very thin, but persistent. The aroma is somewhat unusual for a bocks. It is neither malted or hoppy, but rather wood and vanilla characterize the aroma. It has also been stored in the brewery cellar for 9 months, and possibly some of the time in barrels. The taste is slightly malty with a little hint of vanilla. A moderate taste of alcohol is present, but is taken quickly by some fruit which is very difficult to categorize. Malt is also moderate and have a little touch of caramel. Hoppy bitterness is gentle, but present and long-lasting.

Ámbar. Madurada en barriles de roble. Aroma a alcohol y madera. Llena la boca y en seguida pega el petardazo en lengua y paladar. Sabor a miel y malta. Poco equilibrio. Alcohol demasiado evidente y poco más

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
.33l pour from room-temp bottle into a goblet. Luminous orange and clear as day with a light, fizzy, and quickly-dissipating head. Beautiful color and clarity. Incredibly full bodied. Syrupy. Aromatic with a strong boozy and fruity nose. Some raisin and bitter herbs notes in there too. I am not a big fan of the taste, though. It ends with a bitter arugula bite. Raisin, alcohol, biscuit, yeast, and bitter fruit in the middle. An aggressive and technically-apt beer, but in the end not one I much enjoy drinking.
