3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
The 1st thing I will mention is that I’m not a doppelbock fan, they just tend to be too sweet for my liking, but I respect what should be good by the style. This to me is alright. Firstly, the aroma is full of everything from raisins, alcohol, sugary candy, roast, tobacco, and a licorice. In appearance it is a dark coppery color, not much head (typical). It’s flavors are pretty much a mirror of the aromas. It’s again sweeter than I’m comfortable with, but for the style it’s somewhat balanced. It’s astringent, sweet, and full flavored. Not things I’m into as a group collective. Not for me, but if you like doppelbocks, it’s perfectly acceptable.

Thanks BalkanMac. .33l. Rich orange, clear. Strong euro strong lager nose, big alcohol body, orange cola. Dry bittering finish. Strong alc obviously. Clean, more refined than most, but still over the top.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Aged since 2008. Poured a clear medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma is caramel malt biscuit and dough. The flavour is medium bitter with an oily syrup honey palate. Medium to full bodied with flat carbonation and an oily mouthfeel. A superb rich, flavourful beer which has aged rather well I feel.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Birra dolce, essenzialmente dolce, forse stucchevole a voler provare a berne più di una, con un bel bouquet floreale e un sapore di banana, albicocca e lievemente di alcool. Sicuramente, però, una birra buona e godibile.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Really not impressed with this one. Tart and extremely carbonated. I had it after a Dunkel Doppelbock and perhaps that was why it was such a let down. What I can say is that for having such a high alcohol content it hides it well. Sugary at times but not my kind of bock beer at all.

Riecht nach Karamell und schmeckt auch ein bisschen so. Der Geruch geht in Richtung schales Bier - Lichtgeschmack?

Buena cerveza tomada bien helada. Una apariencia transparente y un sabor dulzón que al principio no es agradable pero que suaviza al tomarla

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A dark yellow beer with a weak and disappering, white head. The nose is rich, sweet fruits, strawberries, some malts. Surprisingly, a pleasant and good aroma. Taste is quite sweet and rich, riped fruits, some malts, hint of strenght of alcohol, herbal like dryness in the end. Full bodied, mild carbonation, slick to drink. Interesting beer, a positive surprise. This doppelbock is filled up with lots of fruits, also the strong sweetness is just fine in this beer. Urbock 23 shows that it’s possible the brew the great beer for this style.
