Bottle. Poured pale orange with thin head. Strong aroma of apples and alcohol Pronounced sweet, almost over sweet flavour, with fruit, caramel and alcohol. Malty sweet finish with alcohol burn.

I had this beer on tap in D.C. The beer had a clear amber-gold color with a small white head that had some cling and retention. The beer had a citrus and grassy hops aroma with some yeast and a touch of fruit and floral hops. The taste was sweet and fruity with some tart and a bit of bitterness too. It was thin and dry with low carbonation and a noticeable amount of alcohol.

(bottle - 330 ml) Clear gold color with a thin white head and mild carbonation. Rather light for a doppelbock. Aroma is rather mild but has a creamy, sweet beginning with some underlying hints of raisins, port, and candy. Very sweet and alcoholic at the start. A lot of sugar and raisin notes begin the flavor with a dry and sweet middle, much like a liqueur. Finishes boozy and sweet with a lot of fruit notes. Alcohol is very dominant and very strong.

Poured from a bottle - 33cl - into a Budvar glass. Very smokey. Clear and golden red. Lovely texture. Very hoppy; quite balanced, herbal, caramel and spices. An interesting bock beer. I enjoy this. It is heart warming and full bodied. An aggressive beer. However there is an odd smell which is making me wonder if it is off. Hmmm. Burnt apples. I don’t like apples so sorry folks. Otherwise rating would be considerably higher.

Bottle 330ml. Heavenly. Aromas of caramel and apple. Flavour is sweet, with lingering long-lasting bitterness. Palate is creamy and full-bodied, and it has a warm alcoholic finish. Amber in colour, with a head that disappears.

Pours a blonde almost orange color with the espresso swirl head. The aroma is lots of apple cider but in a more spicy and red apple kind of way, this is by no means tart smelling. There is also some sweet malt and a bit of alcohol in the aroma. The flavor is more apple and cherry fruitiness with some husky graininess and some herbal hops, the beer is big and malty and a bit hot but very good.

Tepid gold, no head. Nose is sugary with heavy malt presence, significant raisin, light bubblegum and grass. Flavor is kind of a mess, half-doppelbock half-pale lager, a grainy mess covering some sugary sweetness, burnt toast, and little of the nose profile. Thin, grainy finish with a watery body and a graham cracker note that lingers. Won’t be paying for another of these in a while.
