goozen (812), Leiden, Netherlands Jul 14, 2007 Tap at an Munich Bistro hidden in a alley near Paulaner Brauhaus 0,5ltr: Golden looking Helles from the Hallertau Hopsgrowing region. Very thirstquenching. JorisPPattyn (4638), Antwerpen, Belgium Mar 31, 2007 Metallic clear gold, very carbonated to small, yellowish head. Initially lactic nose, going over in grassy notes. Bit of rot too, sulphur, but not disturbing. Very dry, grassy, or rather hayish flavours, dry, herb , nice. Noble hops don’t determine the character, but they build balance in the background. Again some sulphur retronasal. Light bodied, bit slick. Surprisingly nice, very drinkable Helles. It remains a bit unidimensional, but complexity is not its aim, pleasing sessions are. pivnizub (4007), Porúří, Germany Sep 1, 2006 Bottle (copyright by joss !): Straw golden, small, stable and lacing head; delicate sweet-grainy nose with the faintest touch of cardboard and a light hoppiness in the background; mild sweetish (grainy, fruity) flavour; faint sweet-citrousy finish with some hoppiness in the background. A well drinkable Helles.............. joss (3247), Garching b. München, Germany Jul 19, 2006 Bottle. Subtle aromatic hop nose. Pale golden, low head. Lightbodied, low on maltyness for a Helles, fine hop balance, aromahops retronasal.
Quite nice summerbeer - tilting quite a bit towards a pilsner in style. motelpogo (4124), Plzen, Czech Republic Jan 27, 2003 quite dull and very very wet - lacks a finish except for some vague powdery bitterness
