500ml bottle. Clear deep red dark amber colour with average to huge, frothy, half-way lasting, miimally lacing, off-white head. Dark malty aroma with a spicy touch of hay and hints of dark bread. Taste is minimally sweet dark malty, minimally spicy, decent bitter hop note; soft and smooth.

Bottle. Amber, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty and lightly sweetish aroma, some caramel and light roasted malt with light hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, light caramel and light bread, light chocolate. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish, light caramel and light roasted malt, light chocolate and light hoppyness. Ok not so sweet dunkel - nothing special though.

Dark copper, clear body with a thin beige cap. Aromas of fruit, malt, light caramel. Fruity sweetness. Lovely German lager yeast. Another good one from this newfound brewery.

Bottled 50cl. Slight reminiscence of paprika in the nose. Stuffy sitting room reminiscence throughout. Medium bodied. Creamy palate. "Würzig". Balanced.

Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!
Schade. Das Bier hat wirklich grandios angefangen. So reichts leider nur zum Mittelmaß.

JDBaker11058 (1790) - Maryland, USA - FEB 23, 2016
appearance: clear medium dark brown, with a short, fizzy beige head. aroma: toasted brown bread, light nutty aroma, some caramel. taste: light caramel, toasted nuts, light herbal/grassy notes, brown bread, slight minerality. finish: slightly sweet, mostly toasty bread, a note of cardboard. notes: Not a bad dunkel, but not great. I like the nickname on the bottle, "Fatti". Bottle from the Beer & Wine Cellar in Rockville, Maryland.
