0,2l on Tap in Düsseldorf! Typisches Alt, recht süffig. Könnte malziger sein. Bestenfalls Durchschnitt.

(from notes) Very cold. Faint grassy and peppery hop nose. Crystal clear, medium sized off white head. Medium hop bitterness with a peppery note that lasts thru the finish. Not as bitter as I was expecting for my first Alt in Germany. Richer malt flavors come through as it warms. No real esters. Moderate alcohol noted.

500ml bottle. Dark beer, with slight fruit aromas. Malt flavours with autumn berry overtones. Perfect accompaniment to crisps and nuts.

Pours out in deep dark brown colour with low head and medium body. Nice aroma of nuts and torf. Taste of hops, leaves, woods, nuts and caramel. Medium bitter, light metallic finish. Not the best Altbier available but pretty decent and nice.

On tap @ Brisbane German Club which is highly recommended when attending the Test cricket at GABA next door (especially when your only choice of beer inside the ground is 4X Gold at $7.20 a plastic schooner!). This one pours reddish-brown with medium off-white head. Plenty of caramel malt sweetness up front on the nose with soft fruity hops and a touch of burnt sugar. Taste is prominent sweet malts with a light fruity hop bitterness to the finish. Eminently sessionable with clean palate, lightish body and easy carbonation.
