pivnizub (4007), Porúří, Germany Jul 30, 2006 Tap (Schneider Wibbel, Düsseldorf): Light hazy, light amber coloured, small, lacing white head; sweet caramelly and fruity nose with an aromatic hoppy touch; sweet flavour, sticky texture, light bodied; short sweet-bitter finish. "Jonges" means in the rhenish slang - You guessed it - "young". This Alt is too young, not well conditioned, indeed; but drinkable, anyway...........
Rastacouere (5418), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Sep 27, 2007 Cloudy dark amber pour, the head is off-white, medium in size and lasting. An appealing floral aroma with a certain tartness to it grows perfumey and is backed by toasty, straightforward malts hinting at the usual burnt toffee. In mouth, it takes an unexpected turn toward liquorice as the hops get more herbal, geared for some finishing bitterness. Bittersweet palate with cleansing yet feeling soft carbonation. I had never heard of that beer before meeting it in Düsseldorf and was quite pleased by its authenticity. alebrewer (109), Mentor, Ohio, USA Apr 25, 2007 on tap, Zum Goldenen Ring, Düsseldorf
Dark amber unfiltered alt. Very malty but not overly so. Very drinkable and enjoyable. MiP (6323), Flensburg, Germany Feb 15, 2007 Draught at Schneider Wibbel. Sourish aroma. Muddy dark red/orange colour. Big, stable light brown head. The flavour has some caramel sweetness along with that good ole naturtrüb yeast flavour. No to low bitterness. This is good. diabel (1211), Aarschot, Belgium Jan 7, 2007 On tap at Schneider Wibbel, Düsseldorf
Reddish brownn hazy body. Frothy off-white head. Aroma of flowers, vanilla, soft malts, ... Moderately bitter, lightly sweet flavour, some nice fruitiness. Nice beer with a good balance. I liked it.
