badgerben (3029), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Sep 23, 2005 Updated: Apr 12, 2008 Pale Lager #100. Well, disturbingly enough, I really didn’t hate this one. Pale gold color. Very slight grain and corn aroma and taste. Clean and plain, it’s just spiked water.
maniac4016 (96), sky ute, Illinois, USA Jul 19, 2008 it is what it is, not terrible but nothing to get hard over either. better than most macro produced swill. on pare with schlitz, strohs & the usual suspects KeithD (203), Outer Space, Congo Jul 19, 2008 It was love at first sight when I saw this recently while touring through Wyoming. The 12-pack called my name from the deepest nether-regions of the gas station liquor section in the middle of nowhere, it was decorated on one side with a bighorn sheep, one side with a pheasant, one side with a whitetail buck, one side with a mountain lion, and one side with some rainbow trout. Awesome packaging! On the box it says this is the "animal pack" which I guess is supposed to appeal to hunters and outdoorsmen. Okay, the rifle is loaded and we’re ready to dive into the dark world of SCHMIDT. Whoa.... ugh! At first taste, this beer was pretty brutal, with a mishmosh of harsh corncob flavors and stagnant river water aftertaste. Yes, cobby graincobs twisting relentlessly in the still water of the local river. Yet, as if guided by an invisible force of nature, I continue to drink the Schmidt... can after can, as the rainbow trout stare at me eerily from the dim light of the garage refrigerator. After a few cans, I like Schmidt simply for being what it is. It takes balls to drink Schmidt. Beware when you’re drinking the "animal pack," after too many Schmidts, you may end up shooting at the box. Or trying to pet it. GET SCHMIDTFACED. scooter_bub (150), Lander, Wyoming, USA Jul 7, 2008 Can. Pours a nice clear golden yellow with a decent white head that fades fairly quickly. Has a decent malt/hop balance, but the taste of corn is fairly present. Is slightly bitter, which is kind of a surprise. Aroma is fairly mild, but matches the taste. I like the can design, as it makes for a good camping beer. Overall, this beer is fairly good for the price as it clean tasting and rather refreshing. BREWMUSKCLES (742), WEEHAWKEN, New Jersey, USA Jun 2, 2008 corny sweet and velvety with a moderate carbonation. refreshing with a bit of a bitter twinge to it. moderately flavorful and golden with a decent white head.I drank to much of this to ignore... but you may want to take my word for it. used to be appealingly cheap and good for a cheap beer especially as a chaser. DuffMan (1891), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jun 1, 2008 Pale golden, big bubbly white head showing poor retention. Stanky corny wet dishrag aroma. Light, nearly flavourless palate that is grainy and sweet. Bland.
