3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Strykzone (2906) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - OCT 17, 2011
12 oz. bottle bought in Michigan. This pours hazy (after being rolled) and tea colored. It has a thick beige head that has good retention and leaves sticky lacing. The aroma is gentle and includes soft fruit and earth. Hop flavor leads and is sour and fruity. Caramel is in the background and it is a bit toasty. Bitterness and hop notes grow with warmth and they bring a strong finish. This beer is borderline pale ale and is just ok.

Draft at the brewpub on 9/23/11. Pours a very dark amber. Small off white head. Mild aroma that is maybe a bit of nuts and malt. Flavor is a bit bitter, but still enjoyable. Medium palate. Decent beer, but as an amber I would have enjoyed some sweetness in the flavor to offset the bitter. A number of the prior ratings seem questionable. Not sure what is going on here. This is a neat brew pub, but I hope that they aren’t tainting their ratings.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Hollywoodt (200) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - NOV 11, 2010
On tap at the brewpub. Poured a hazy dark amber color. Aroma was some grass and hops. Flavor was hard to describe, but wasn’t true to the style, IMO. I probably wouldn’t order it again.

Very clean and refreshing. It has a smooth finish and no true aftertaste or bad mouth feel. Always a good choice.

This is another one of those beers I recommend for the "first time visitor" to Schmohz Brewery’s tap room. It looks amber. It *IS* amber. That being said, it’s the closest thing to "commercial" beer on the tap. If you’re afraid of micro-brews that are too hopped up, too malted, doctored with fruit, sugar, chocolate and other "cheater" additives, you’ll like Schmohz Amber Tease because it has none of that. Just a good honest easy-drinkin’ brew.

A solid Amber beer. The flavor emanating from this standby is consistently good. A nice medium beer with all-around good taste.
3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 jpatrix (14) - Michigan, USA - JUL 3, 2010
A good Cali. Common Ale. Rich maltiness with just a smooth hop finish. This is one you can drink for a while. Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
