Mar 7, 2008 MBG Winter Fest 2008. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that was mostly lasting with fair lacing. Moderate toasted chocolate malty aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium toasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.

Oct 3, 2006 On tap at the brewpub. Poured dark brown with an off-white head. Light roasts and molasses that grew stronger as it warmed. Thin and unremarkable.

Apr 26, 2005 A little bland when cold, but opened up a bit as it warmed (duh). A little watery in the backbone. A little vinous. Not bad effort. Some good notes of carmel, a little coffee, and minute amount of chocolate. Roastiness throughout.

Dec 25, 2004 dark brown to black appearance...a nice smooth palate...wonderful lacing!; flavor is that of a typical porter (roasted and toasted notes, hints of chocolate and coffee with some nutty flavors)
