3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a clean burnt copper with one finger of dark tan head. Very nice nose, rich and caramelly with notes of raisin and prune. Awesome dextrinous sweet malt character. Light showing of alcohol. Flavor isn’t quite the same, get some oxidized hops in there. Some toasted cereal grain and rich chocolaty malt. Slight astringency and noticeable bitterness.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Aroma has notes of roasted and toasted malts, caramel, toast, coffee, resin hops, wood, dark dried fruits and vanilla. Very dark brown hue that sits very dark ruby brown/black in the glass with a small off-white head that left no lace. Flavor is very sweet and heavy bitter. Palate very full bodied, oily with average carbonation. Overall I was quite surprised with this brew after reading the reviews. I loved the aroma and taste and everything else was average at least. A good one.
