Pours a clear deep reddish brown with a small tan head that goes away. The smell is rich malt, Taste is a blend of caramel malt and crisp hops. Some alcohol notes as well as it finishes dry with a hint of bitter. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall a decent beer but not interesting enough to have another.

50cl bottle. Thanks to David -Cervezorama 2.0-. Brown colour with a initial good formation of a medium beige head that quickly diminises. Aroma is malty, light alcohol and caramel. Flavor is toasty, malty, caramelish, with notes of nuts and alcohol in the final. Carbonation and body are medium.

The head is ok, the body black, a bit red. The taste is darkmalty, roasty, but also a bit watery. In the aftertaste alcoholic. Boring for this style. 12/8/7/7/12/8

Sweet with some flavors of dried fuits (prunes, raisins). Deep brown color (reddish against the light) with tiny brown head. Aroma is also sweet. Smell and taste give no hint to the high ABV. Smooth, mellow and easy to drink despite is strength....

#824 Dunkelbrauner Bock mit schwachbrüstigem, leicht malzigem Aroma. Im Antrunk auch sehr verhalten, trotz der satten 8% Alkohol. Geschmacklich kaum erwähnenswert: Erstmal gar nichts, dann leicht malzig bevor es geradezu bitter, ja sogar leicht holzig wird. Für einen Bock absolut aromenarm und auch leider völlig "un-malzig". Der bittere Abgang lässt an Medizin erinnern. Nee, das ist kein gelungener Bock! Test vom 30.4.2011, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,8,8,8,10,8 - 8,30

Bottle: The aroma consists of toffee, caramel, fruit, and light nuts. It pours a transparent orangish-brown with a small off-white head that quickly fades to a thin ring. The flavor starts with caramel and toffee. There’s some light fruit in the background. The finish has light nuts. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation.

Clear brown, scant off white edge head. Aroma of caramel and smoke. Taste is sweet caramel and toffee with a burnt edge.

Bottle by 21.09.12. Relatively faint nose of caramel, dark toffee, fruity sticky malt. Reddish dark body with a rocky tan head. Sticky fruity taste in the mouth dries out somewhat and picks up subtle burned and ashen notes along the way, and thought the alcohol isn’t screaming through (or even warming - superb mastery of disguise) it’s obvious from the way my brain is reeling that there’s a lot here. Faint berry under the faint chocolate. Low-medium bitterness, lightly herbal, very earthy. Smooth and refined. Overall I’d call this something of a mild disappointment, but there’s enough evidence of subtlety and nuance that I’d be willing to give it another go.
