shrubber85 (2462), Wallhalben, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany Jul 12, 2008 Bottle. Smoked meat, banana, and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy yellow orange color with large white head. Sweet orange, banana, clove wheat malt flavor with a hint of smokiness. Moderate carbonation. Outside of Bamberg, this is the first Hefe I’ve ever had that had any smokiness to it. Very nice beer - very unique.
oldrtybastrd (1512), Morlautern, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany May 13, 2008 Pours a hazy golden orange. Aromas of bread/clove/ and some fruit. Had a taste of yeasty bread with some spice. MrRomero (1879), Wiesbaden-Biebrich, Germany Jun 12, 2007 500ml bottle: pours the usual cloudy yellow with a big thick white head. Very aggressive carbonation streaming upwards. Light grain and yeasty aroma but very little, if any, notes of bana or spice. I prefer my hefes to have banana notes but this will suffice. Flavor also lacks the typical hefe phenols and instead relies totally on the wheat and hops to carry it. And they do a pretty good job. If you don’t care for the banana in most hefeweizens, this is probably your cup of (tea) beer. CEZ (365), Milano, Italy Jan 17, 2006 [on tap, Poggio] Light golden body, generous white head. Mostly hoppy aroma. Clean and rather dry taste; just some traces of banana and chewing-gum. Nice citric charcater. Not bad, not too deep. larsniclas (2794), Gothenburg, Sweden Jul 7, 2004 Draught at The Rover, Gothenburg, Sweden.
Hazy golden with a large creamy head.
Fruity and tidbitties.
Soft, almost flat and a bit too sweet.
