Bottle 50 cl. Clear copper in color with a tan head. Malty sweet, some booze and spices in aroma. Harsh mouthfeel. Some malty sweetness and a bit too much of abv pushing through in taste. Not that enjoyable.

Nice reddish amber color with silky smooth head. Aroma hints at dried fruit and alcohol. Taste is a bit smoother; some caramel, some toffee, some butterscotch.... Easily drinkable but beware the high ABV

Bottle from Alko, Kemi. Clear reddish brown beer with dissapearing white head. Sweet malty aroma. Taste is also sweet, has got caramel malts with fair amount of alcohol pushing through. Not very good balance because of that. Would propably be better brew with less ABV.

Dark amber with a small head. Malty with a bit of hay and some fruitiness. Hot and slightly unpleasant finish.

500 ml bottle. Pours reddish amber colour with a large foamy yellowish head. Aroma of bready malt, alcohol, caramel, wood and slightly yeasty notes. Taste of caramel, licorice, wood and raisins. Slightly bitter. Light to medium bodied, medium carbonation and slick mouthfeel. Caramel and a bit burning alcohol in finish. Quite tasty bock but some character still missing.

Aroma has hay and berries and fruits. Fresh good aroma. Clear strawberry red, dense white head medium long. Taste is quite lagerish and long, berries in background, soft and slick, low carbonation, mild taste, just bit bitterness. Taste is surprisingly lagerish and bit dull, other parts are better.

Dark copper colour, frothy off-white head, a very nice presentation. My first stab at a Heller Bock, this one might not be representative for the style though? I thought this was a great beer, aroma was fruity and hoppy and some malts. Great bitterness in the taste coupled with a bit a sweetness, very good!

Bottle by 27.02.13. Malty white grape nose. Vivid red-orange body, clear with a fizzing tan head (very unusual looking, especially unusual for a bock). Taste is hot and boozy but not reigning fire, the malt is a little grainy and sort of suppressed, full body but with weak carbonation. Just sort of thick. Semi sweet with place-jumping spicy hops, pervasive ghostly honey. I’d say this is something of a dreary Middle German take on a Polish Strong Lager; it’s not flawed in the way an offensive beer might be, but just way too simple for 8.0%, and I actually found entertainment in focusing on the complexity of all the different higher-order alcohols this dulled rocket fuel holds. Truth be told, I’d have it again.
