Very nice beer for a little bit more demanding taste. A bit alcoholic taste, light body and thin texture. Best with strong cheeses with high in proteins. This is a special beer which needs special athmosphere to have it. This is a beer that tastes itself, not bananas. Nice hops with nice taste of herbs, sage... Not everyday and not everybody. Somehow this beer feels more like a vine, not beer.

Ruusuinen väri, niin kuin nimikin kertoo. Alkumaku aivan jees, mutta himpun katkera loppu. Illan heikoin. Musavisan voitto.

Amber of color with a white head. An aroma of sweets, butter, metallic candy and malty. A flavor of sweet malt, sugar, molasse, alcohol, sticky and a bit too sweet.

Ernest (6143) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 26, 2014
Bottle (BB Jan 2015). Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is light to medium amber. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted bread/grain), lightly hoppy (herbs, flowers), with notes of whiskey and alcohol. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. A more drinkable beer than the Maerzen, despite the higher alcohol...better balanced specifically. Kinda whiskey-ish too...overall simple nose but admittedly enticing.

Bottle, 500ml. An orange clear beer with a frothy head. Aroma is of dry fruits and alcohol. Maybe a hint of bananas. Taste is bitter at the beginning but not afterwards. It has an alcohol finish and is slightly dense at the end. Unlike the other german beers, it is not very drinkable (I can´t imagine myself drinking huge amounts of this beer).

Bottle, 500ml. Pours clear copper/orange with a creamy tan head with decent retention. Aroma is subtle, of caramel, spices, toffee, honey, cereal, dry fruits, alcohol, doughy yeast and maybe even some sour hints. Rich, with a medium to heavy body. Strong malt backbone well matched with alcohol, but bitterness is discreet towards the finish. Strong, warming beer.

500ml brown bottle abv8% b@Alko Kemi; sehr große Schaumkrone , and poff it’s gone. Nice clear reddish amber body. Scents of caramel malts, sweetness, roses and maybe raspberry jam or currants. Tastes caramel malts, berry hops, butter n oil, sweet roasted malts. Oily feel soft and no space for water. Sweet buttery finish, some bitter notes still, mostly caramel alco-candies, warmth. (Tromsø, May 28th 2014).

Bottle. Aroma is malty, yeast. Taste is sweet, sour with a bit alcohol. Carbonation rather flat, mouth feel thick. Could be better, but better than other beers from Schmucker.

Bottled. Orange color with light orange head. Aromas of sweet malts with light notes of caramel. Flavors of sweet malts with light notes of fruit and bad metallic notes. Too much alcohol in taste. Finishes to a dry bitter finish.

Winy, delicate-looking and yeasty bock, with lots of sweetness and flavors of wet basement and winy christmas brews. Ok balanced, but lack of complexity and warmth.
