Ungstrup (11692), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 29, 2008 Bottled. An unclear dark golden beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is powerfully wheaty combined with sweet malty notes as well as medium notes of mango and lighter notes of banana. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of wheat and fruit - mango and oranges, leading to a dry wheaty finish. Papsoe (11061), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 7, 2007 (Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of MoritzF. Pours a very hazy golden with a handsome, dense, off-white head leving a pretty lacework. Fresh - somewhat herbal - hoppy nose. The usual banana flavours are very downplayed - almost non-existing. Medium body, dry malt accents and again these herbal and citrusy accents with a distinct and atypical bitterness. Very interesting. 041007 omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 7, 2008 Updated: Sep 8, 2008Bottled at RBESG. Cloudy deep golden, rich head. Orangey banana aroma. Medium-full bodied. Fruity and yeasty, juicy and aromatic. Feels lighter than it’s size. By weizenbock-standards unusual amounts of hop bitterness finishes it off. yespr (7785), Copenhagen O, Denmark Sep 21, 2007 RB #1600: 50 cL bottle, thanks to Lars and Kim for sharing especially this and many more beers on the 18th of September at Ølbaren. This poured hazy yellow to orange with a little white head. Very strong citrus fruity aroma. Very citrus fruity flavour, heavy heavy hoppy flavour. Most amazingly the finish gives a great caramel malty flavour which breaks the dominant hop-flavour. Fantastic. Oakes (7032), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Sep 16, 2007 Well I must have shaken this one quite a bit as it is very opaque. Bright aroma of the Saphir hops, a little banana, pear. Dry with lots of dusty yeast character, a little alcohol, fresh melony hops. Spritzy carbo. More interesting than awesome. Thanks Joe & Gabe!
