Commercial Description:
This Beer is bottled in 500ml SCHNEIDER bottles.
This unique beer is the result of the long friendship of Schneider brewmaster Hans-Peter Drexler and Brooklyn brewmaster Garrett Oliver. The two brewmasters feel that Schneider & Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse represents the quality, tradition and terroir of the Bavarian Hallertauer hop region paired with the innovation and creative energy for which Brooklyn is famous.

Immediate nose of bright Hallertauer hop spice (green peppercorn and a little sage). Earthy with some tropical fruit and round, polished wheat malt. Finishes soft with a yeasty cream and lingering hop spice. As complex as a wheat beer can get, and deftly balanced at that. This version seem to be a little less aggresive in the bitterness department over past or fresh vintages.

Flaske: Flot stort skum på en uklar mørkeorange øl. Ikke megen karbonering men en kraftig lækker duft af humle. God kombination af hvede og humle og en meget drikbar øl. Godt samarbejde.

Bottle. Pours OJ-yellow with a huge frothy white head and swirling, oozing clouds of sediment- like a lava lamp at first. Hoppy orange, spicy yeast, banana, and honey in the nose. Similar taste, but with some wheat and a little warming alcohol. Nice smooth mouthfeel, finishes malty orange.

Aroma of burnt citrus greets the nose from the beginning of its dark, cloudy pour. The tangy, sour character suggests grapefruit, mango, pineapple, lemon, and vanilla with a crisp hoppy finish.

I get a bit fed up with beer and food matching what i tend to enjoy and remember more is beer and situation or movie matches....i drunk this while watching a re-run of the Goonies on TV and what a fantastic pairing! The beer had a creamy and herbal palate that seemed to match the overtones of pirate buried treasure well. On the nose it was all cloves and nutmeg that i think went fantastically well with the 80’s wardrobe that the heroes and heroines were wearing. it didn’t look very good in the glass but that’s ok because neither does the cast! To top off a fantastic matched with a fantastic movie!

500mL bottle. Slightly different label than that in the picture. Pours a hazy, deep gold/rust color with a HUGE and fluffy light-tan head. A rich, semi-floral, tropical fruit aroma that features some pineapple, mango, and banana scents in addition to some apricots, grapefruits, orange peels, lemons, coriander, clove, and some crisp wheatiness in the background. Mild vanilla comes through as it warms. Goes down medium-bodied and pretty creamy. The flavor starts off with a yeasty, fruity tanginess. Bananas and spices in the transition. Some crisp, drying wheatiness at the very end. Vanilla and hints of warming alcohol throughout. Great brew.

Bottle. Golden colour with dense medium white head. Aroma grass, citrus, hoppy and weak notes of banana. Taste hopps, bananas and some exotic fruits. A littie hopp bite in the finish. A nice beer, but I frankly don´´ t think these hopp experiments make the weizen bocks better than the original ones.

Schneider & Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse is a very cloudy dull gold beer with a thin, dense, white head that has good lacing. It has a fresh, fruity, spicy aroma with notes of lemon, orange, coriander and banana/clove. It is medium bodied; smooth and lively with a clean finish. It has a full, fruity wheat flavor with lots of spice. It’s chai-like. It’s a little sweet, a little bitter and incredibly drinkable-- even at 8.5% ABV-- Look out!
