Ron (1000), Rochester, New York, USA Sep 8, 2009 Bottle. Poured a murky orange with a small white head. First impressions are very good, very refreshing. Nice amount of citrus, watermelon, grapefruit, coriander, vanilla, some hops(but not too many). Aroma is decent, finish is a little dry but good. Carbonation is spot on too. Complex, refreshing and tasty. cking (1012), North Canton, Ohio, USA Sep 7, 2009 Wonderful fresh aroma of pale malts followed quickly by pineapple peach and a zesty grassiness. Dark orange-yellow color, big lasting head and splotchy lacing. Quenching and lighter to medium bodied with a noticeable high alcohol finish and a subtle bitterness. Crisp hop flavors, spicy and green. The hops lead to a plush fruitiness that’s not quite all citrus. Sweet doughy malt with some grainy grass and a faint alcohol push. astrofrk (218), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Sep 5, 2009 Cloudy Gold. Long, small head. Aroma: Wheat, herbs, grass. Flavor: Banana, caramel, spice. Sweet finish.
Hoppy for its style With complex flavors and aromas. This is a very good and complex beer. ilovedarkbeer (1326), Dallas, Texas, USA Sep 4, 2009 Pours a murky. Golden orange tinted color. Medium sized off white creamy head. Nose is banana apple pineapple, coriander, clove, clean linen. Taste is citrus hops, laundry detergent, banana creme and pine. Mouthfeel is lively smooth and medium weight. This is a damn good underrated beer. TChrome (1298), Bedford, Texas, USA Sep 4, 2009 Beer pours dark golden color with a totally retained off white colored head. Aroma is compelling with notes of clove, orange peel, and sweet bread. Flavor is intially sweet with some enjoyable spiciness in the finish. If weizen bocks are supposed to be strong and dark, I am not sure this fits the style descpription. It is an enjoyable beer in its own right, and I agree with KAaggie might more resemble a saison than anything else. daknole (2805), Plantation, Florida, USA Sep 2, 2009 bottle. orangish pour. mostly white head. aroma is well balanced between malt and hops. Some nice fruit and spices. Flavor is hoppy, yeast and some malty sweetness. Enjoyable. KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Sep 1, 2009 Bottle. Pours a rich, deep light cheddar orange with a springy aroma of cedar, orange peel, lemon zest, and light banana. Flavor is buttery cedar with sour fruit peels in the finish. Touches of old wood and clove round out each sip. Thick, coating mouthfeel. Fantastic beer; closer to a saison in taste and smell, in my opinion. boFNjackson (1233), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 30, 2009 Bottle was poured at Saraveza... Came out a cloudy, vibrant golden/yellow with a thick white head, greet retention. Hoppy nose and a tart yeast quality to it. The initial flavors of the brew were very hoppy and acidic with warming alcohol and sweet, citrusy esters to balance.
