pours out a nice dark cloudy yellow color with a large head. aroma is full of wheat and slightly hoppy. Flavor was very refreshing and slightly citrusy. This was an amazing beer. something i will want to drink again.

Great collaboration with G. Oliver of Brooklyn Brewery. Was quite suprised by the 8.2% ABV for a German beer and yet it was well-hidden. A present taste of hops, pours dark golden. A definitive plus, wishing many other Germans Weisse would taste like that.

Foaming rocky haze in requisite trumpet. Aroma immediately evocative of Belgium for me- that of a juicily hopped, unspicy, citrussy Tripel (Rulles?). Lemon and lime jelly, marmalade, spruce, rind, fibrous grapefruity hop. Wow. Nothing Germanic going on here whatsoever. The hops have just completely smashed the wheat to the canvas in the first round, which is great but I wanted the two to scrap it out. Flavour an accidental and unexpectedly pleasurable mouthful of soap, swallowed bathfoam/bubble mix, densely citrussy hop bittersweetness, without even the faintest trace of alcohol. Absolutely not a ’Weizen Bock’, but an American Pale Tripelweizen, and I love it, but what happened to the weizen? It’s just a bit too interchangeable with a marmaladey Belgian Tripel for me. Now, a genuinely balanced fusion of silky estery banana, bubblegum, pepper, wheaty sharpness AND punchy American hops at 8.2%, now THAT really would be interesting....

Poured from a 500ml bottle and served in a weizen glass. This beer poured a bright, hazy orange with a substantial head of white foam that showed off some excellent retention. Lots of uneven, bubbly lacing was left around the glass. The aroma of the beer was made up of fresh wheat, orange and lemon zest, ripened bananas, and a hefty dose of spicy hops. Very nice! The flavor included bananas, oranges, wheat, and also some spicy, herbal hop notes. The 8.2% ABV was very well hidden. The mouthfeel was medium to full-bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth, hoppy, and very refreshing. A great beer!

500 ml bottle from the newly renovated and newly managed rip and run (aka Brice discount beverages) here in town. A gently floral nose of whole hops presents this appopriatly hazy brew. Head settles to thin film quick. Body is rich and full and balanced by a light bananna laffy taffy tone. this is over-shadowed by the rouned floral hops and steady pulse of the rich malts. The hops have a finish zing to them after the floral bits fade, gonna try me some of them in the next batch of homebrew.

Pours cloudy orange with a fluffy white head. Aroma of orange, cloves, and fresh hops. \Initisltastes like a spicy wheat with some additional notes of banaba, and finishes slightly bitter. Pales a bit in comparison to its exceptional counterpart, but overall, and excellent beer, one I will definitely have again.

Pours a nice hazy orange color with a huge thick white head. Aroma is very spicy. You have some clove and some fruit, but then there’s a grassiness that must come from the hops. Sort of a weird amalgamation on the flavor. Like a really nice wheat mixed in with lawn clippings, again from the hops. Some beers hide their high alcohol content well but this isn’t one of them. Very complex flavor profile on the front end, but the back is all burn and bitter. Neat experiment on this one though.

Pours a sunburst of orange and gold with many tiny bubbles and a crazy creamy off-white head! Sweet aroma of clove and yeast with distinct hoppiness. First taste has definite hotness from the alcohol, some melon juiciness, clove and touch of banana. Soft banana/vanilla cream pie type flavors. Strange bitter hop, yeast, spice finish. This is just way too hot... crude. Thin but heavy and undercarbonated body. 7.5.6.2.12 [2.11.2009] Pours a hazy golden and yellow mix with a tall very thin frothy root-beer float-like head. Sweet dusty yeasty aroma, maybe slightly infected, some faded noble hops, faint ripe banana and spices. Flavors of honey, still hot but not nearly as much as before, whisky-like vanilla and honey from oak barrels, touch of ripe banana and spices, clove, pepper. 7.4.8.2.15
