Aug 25, 2009 Bottle from Kegs & Barrels in McKinney, TX. WOW...this caught me off-guard...Pours a cloudy orange with thick creamy head. Aroma of lots of citrus hops with a malty, fruity back bone. Flavor was a palate shock, take an IPA and pour it into a Hef. Very light tartness, strong hop flavor with a sharp citrus and noticeable bitter, lots of malt and fruit, alcohol. Mouth feel is very soft but yet heavy, medium carbonation. Overall, really wasn’t sure how to rate this, completely different from any other beer I have tried.

Aug 22, 2009 Bottle. Pours murky yellow with a medium white head. Banana bread aroma and flavour, spicy yeast and some soapiness as well. The banana wears thin as the beer progresses and results in more citrus flavours than anything else. Slight spicy, hoppy finish. It’s OK but unfortunately the bottle has taken on some off flavours and a touch of acidity. Cheers to Stew & Chris for the bottle.

Aug 21, 2009 Like a soapy apple-juice, this beer is either oxidized or naturally horrible. It tastes like a green-apple scented dish washing detergent. At least they won’t need to clean the glass afterward. Bottle at Abraxas Lounge, Miami Beach. Kind of like the watered-down apple juice from the dispenser at the Holiday Inn Continental Breakfast. Caca.

Aug 20, 2009 Bottle, 500ml. Pours marmalade in colour, with initial frothy head, since dissipating. Extremely fruity on the nose, with citrus and banana predominating. Aromatic on the palate, almost perfumed, with hops and yeast surfacing through the citrus and banana, with hoppiness to an almost IPA degree. A very successful fusion of styles.

Aug 19, 2009 Bottle. Hazy radiant gold with a medium white head. Aroma is a rich and fruity blend of citrusy hop, banana ester, a little clove, yeast, and a little spice - like a fruit salad beer. Flavor has a lot of banana ester and orange-like hops, leading into a clove and lemon finish. Starts fairly sweet but finishes a bit dry and very clean. Throughout the profile, the hops are very well mated to the malt - Hallertauer is a great hop for this brew. Palate is pleasantly smooth and lively. A very impressive brew, and a style I look forward to exploring more. This one is particularly well balanced and definitely showcases the skill of both breweries.
