Commercial Description:
This Beer is bottled in 500ml SCHNEIDER bottles.
This unique beer is the result of the long friendship of Schneider brewmaster Hans-Peter Drexler and Brooklyn brewmaster Garrett Oliver. The two brewmasters feel that Schneider & Brooklyner Hopfen-Weisse represents the quality, tradition and terroir of the Bavarian Hallertauer hop region paired with the innovation and creative energy for which Brooklyn is famous.

Pours the color of straw and hay that’s been caked with mud with a big fluffy white head, eventually dissipating. Aroma is quite heavy on the hops which is very cool for this style. Lots of pine, lemon, grass, pepper, cloves, toffee, and ginger. Occasional whiffs have a real pungent plantstore aroma. Tastes fairly bready with an earthy tartness, tons of cloves and dry spicy yeast notes, a lot of grassy and lemon hop flavor. Finishes with expected cleanliness of hefeweizens, but there’s a lingering hop aftertaste that isn’t usually there. Only lightly bitter. Medium bodied and highly carbonated, the mouthfeel is pretty much on target. Pretty cool beer that I’m very happy to try, but I can’t help but think about how much I want some Aventinus.

Dark yellow colored with medium sized white head, cloudy appearance. Rich hopped aroma with exotic fruits and rich spices, yeast and mild alcohol also come up. Medium bodied. Flavor is also richly hopped with grassy and fruity aroma with same exotic notes, alcohol comes up stronger here. Aftertaste dries strongly with mild alcohol and lemon. Nice and surprisingly easy to drink weizen bock, hops come up more nicely in aroma.

Bottle from Immy. Poured a murky gold, I like the yeast, its good for you, so I always throw it in. Easy drinking for an 8% brew, some banana,Hops, Citrus, and alcohol, Abit subdued for the alc% thats a plus for sure, a nice drink on a hot California night, refreshing, nice.

Bottle. Pours a clear, then hazy, then murky yellow-gold with a large mostly-lasting fizzy/frothy off-white head. Good lacing. Aroma of banana, spices, floral hops, yeast, citrus and sweet malt -- quite nice. Flavour of yeast, floral hops and alcohol (more hops and alcohol then I expected) along with spices, light banana and citrus. A decent light bitter alcoholic finish. Quite carbonated, almost too much so. Medium bodied. Very good, and quite interesting, I’ll need to get more.

Refreshing. Pours a beatiful cloudy, yellow liquid. Aroma of peaches and bananas. Well balanced taste between the fruit, hops and spices. It is an americanized weizen bock.

500 mL bottle at Flat Rock Saloon. Bottle was different than appears here, also no mention of Brooklyn being involved. Poured hazy orange with thick white head. Spicy hop flavor that finishes with banana esters. An interesing concept beer.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of MoritzF. Pours a very hazy golden with a handsome, dense, off-white head leving a pretty lacework. Fresh - somewhat herbal - hoppy nose. The usual banana flavours are very downplayed - almost non-existing. Medium body, dry malt accents and again these herbal and citrusy accents with a distinct and atypical bitterness. Very interesting. 041007

Sampled at RBESG08 grand tasting. Weird murky beige appearance, probably the ugliest beer I’ve ever had. Very yeasty and fruity aroma with pineapple and citrus. Medium bodied and smooth. Good balance with a dry and bitter finish. Quite good but I had expected something much better.

Bottle (50 cl) from Systembolaget. Very different this time. Hazy orange golden, medium whitre head. Fruity and spicy aroma, with peaches, apricot, and some rubber notes. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Well balanced, moderate to firm bitterness.
