sayravai (3720), Helsinki, Finland Dec 25, 2007 (Bottled) Very dark brown with a small, partly lasting head. Strongly malty, wheaty aroma with some clove spiciness and alcohol presence. Spicy-herby (cloves, cardamom, rosemary, anise), intensively-malty, actually very christmasy flavor. Yeast emphasizes the cloves and wheatiness, but I’d say this is better without it. Quite full-bodied, slicky palate with pretty low carbonation and soft alcohol burn. Maybe slightly alcoholic - but other than that, this is pretty much the ultimate Xmas brew! GadgetGeek (29), Snellville, Georgia, USA Dec 24, 2007 Damn good tasting beer... some fruit followed by a yeasty/malty finish.. good flavor on the back of the throat. Good at room temperature. OSLO (825), Perth, Australia Dec 24, 2007 [Bottle] Pours hazy reddish brown with a cream colored head. Aroma is very yeasty and a little fruity. Taste is yeast up front, then some fruit, and then malt, chocolate and a little bit of alcohol towards the end. Nice and thick with a fairly long finish. Overall a pretty good beer where the aroma is the weakest point of the beer. badbeer (432), Iowa, USA Dec 23, 2007 Bottle number 040372. Beer poured out a burnt caramel color. Smells of yeast and banana, wonderful! Taste is caramelly with a strong presence of banana and various fruits. Mouthfeel is very syrupy and has an alcohol burn in the end, though not enough to take away from the beer. Drinkability is good, though I wouldn’t want to have a lot. One is probably enough in a night. cyrenaica (435), Milton, Ontario, Canada Dec 22, 2007 500ml bottle

I tried this beer on December 23, 2007 after purchasing from my local LCBO outlet. The beer poured a dark brown with a fluffy tan coloured head which didn’t very long. The aroma was malt and sugar. It was a sweet smell. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, slightly creamy, and medium carbonated. The flavour is primarily malty, but there is a peppery sense to the taste as well as an almost licorice taste. corby112 (671), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 21, 2007 Updated: Nov 28, 2008Pours a dar, clougy brown with very small beige head. Aroma of wheat, chocolate, plum, raisin and alcohol. Stronger fruit and alcohol taste than regular Aventinus. Tastes of raisin, plum and blackberry. Nice warm alcohol presence. wnp22 (682), Toronto (Roncesvalles Village), Ontario, Canada Dec 20, 2007 Tasted in Toronto. From Chimay chalice. Pours same brownish, muddy, purple colour as Aventinus Weizen (AW). No head. Cloudy..,.(n)ice.. After an initial sampling, I felt this was simply an H2O evaporated AW. On second sampling I did a full 180. The aroma, flavour and impact of the alcohol are exponentially more impactful than AW. Its like AW on steroids. My goodness. wilderthanyou (409), Guelph, Ontario, Canada Dec 19, 2007 Pours a murky brown with a diminshing beige head. The aroma is sweet, raisins being most prominent, with some notes of alcohol, and licorice. The flavour reflects the aroma, with very sweet notes of raisin, a warm alcohol feeling, and a tasty licorice finish. A damn tasty brew.
