wxman (582), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA Jul 16, 2007 Pours the color of a cola and even fizzes up like a cola. Immediately after fizzing, the head completely disappears. Sweet vinous aroma. Tastes of sweet wine, syrup, dried dark fruit, and alcohol. Interesting, in small amounts. garmonbozia (225), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA Jul 16, 2007 Thanks to Sprinkle for this awsome beer. What a beautiful beer. Pours a dark burgandy color with no head. Taste was of dried fruit and molases and thick too. Alcohol was right up front also. First Eisbock I’ve had and what a surprise mrmojo (37), Edmond, Oklahoma, USA Jul 15, 2007 Bottle...are u kidding, do we need to say anything but great!...here we go... a dark amber rust color with a tan head that stayed during session and had a nice lacing. Great nose...spice, all spice, banana, sweet, orange. The taste is a waterfall of flavors strong, but not overbaring and lasts thruout...Try this beer, try it with a grilled steak or a choc dessert. JB175 (1654), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 14, 2007 Dark brown pour with a pleasant-looking cream-colored head. Aroma is classic Aventinus - Sweet & sugary, banana, wheat, spice. Flavor has alot of nice banana-wheat-brown sugar sweetness, but also picks up a bit of alcohol flavor and loses some of the precursor beer’s smoothness. Very good, but the original Aventinus still rules. kkearn (993), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 14, 2007 Shared with a few family members on July 4th. Poured cloudy brown with sediment; topped with a short off-white head. Strong aroma of spices, banana, wheat and alcohol. Clove, banana, and dried friut are the dominant flavors up front, which gives way to to a strong alcohol finish. Big, delicious beer. hellbilly (1492), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA Jul 14, 2007 muddled dark brown color almost like strong southern iced tea. smells really sweet and wheaty/oaty/grassy with yeast and verjus ( thats green grape juice to the non chefs!) very fizzy and actually lighter in body than i expected. the flavor is yeasty and malty with golden raisins. surprisingly it’s not cloyingly sweet but the alcohol does shine through even when cold... mistersinalin (367), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Jul 13, 2007 I was talked into this by the bartender. This was a very nice beer. It had the great flavors of banana and clove along with the strength of a Panzer division. It took me a half an hour to finish it. I would like to get my hands on some more of this. pintocb (508), Darsville, Georgia, USA Jul 11, 2007 Dark and muddy looking. Some head. The aroma has a lot of banana in it with some spices. The alcohol is well hidden in the flavor, but it is definately felt. Heavy, sticky finish.
