4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Gotta say this is one of the world’s best. A lot of sugary/caramel/toffee nose. Fair amount of head but a deep red/amber hue in the glass. Translucent. Taste is big on spiciness. Cardamon, cinnamon, allspice, cloves...with no added spice - truly exceptional. Explodes in the mouth, , but finishes clear and easy. Strength of alcohol does heat it up a bit on the palate. wonderful

Bottle from Fresh Fields Market, Croydon, it pours dark mahogany brown with a quickly dissipating beige head. The nose is rich, bitter - sweet, caramel, plenty of dried fruits, date, fruit cake, glacé cherry, rich spice, brown sugar, earth and brandy. The taste is rich, bitter - sweet, so much dried fruits, raisin, dried cherry, fruit cake, light spice, good alcohol boost, cherry cola, chewy malt, caramel, earth and toast with warming, woody finish. Medium - full body and moderate carbonation. Quite the beverage. Strong and revitalising!
