COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aventinus, the Wheat Doppelbock of Bavaria, has always been known to be the most intense and complex wheat beer in the world. This was the case for the past sixty years, but not anymore...
Up until the 1940’s, Aventinus was shipped all over Bavaria in containers lacking temperature control. Consequently, the precious drink partially froze during transportation. Unaware that the brew was concentrated by the separation of water from the liquid. People were baffled by this unique version of Aventinus. By chance, the first Aventinus Eisbock was created.
Well aware of this story, Hans Peter Drexler, brewmaster of the Schneider brewery, decided to recreate this classic "mistake" in a modern controlled facility. Thus, the Aventinus Eisbock is reborn sixty years later ... Prost!

A big beer stowed away for several months. Medium brown color, not much head retention. Astonishing storm of CO2 and unfiltered sediments. Aroma of heavy fruit and rum cake. Syrupy sweet, hints of banana spice and rot. Thick body, though not overwhelming. Alcohol is mellow but not subtle. Not differentiated from standard Aventinus, and can be summed up as having more booze and less wheat.

What a beer! Malty like a dopplebock but with a smooth palate from the wheat. A very drinkable beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle poured. Pours a dark brown color with a ton of fading head. Grainy, and slightly sour grape and dark fruit aroma. This doesn’t taste half as strong as it is. Smooth dark berry flavor with some spice. High carb, and a little sour. Overall a great beer. Very impressed here.

Bottle. Hazy, brown with big head. Aroma: Banana, clove, a lot of bread, alcohol. Flavor of bread, alcohol with some chocolate. Alcohol is quite strong. Palate: Very oily, medium carbonation, alcoholic aftertaste. Perfect beer for long, cold evening.

Bottle. Muddy brown pour with no head, like pond water. Malty aroma with some wheat and citrus. Flavour is very complex; bready, fruity, dark fruit and citrus, yeast, leather, very tasty.

Barwa brązowa, piana drobno pęcherzykowa, trwała i całkiem obfita - dobrze to wszystko wygląda. Aromat bardzo intensywny i bogaty, mamy tutaj suszone owoce, banany, goździki, alkohol troszkę i karmel. Aromat zapowiada równie intensywny smak - bardzo dobrze wszystko tutaj gra, żadna nuta się nie gryzie, średnie wysycenie, alkohol przyjemnie rozgrzewający przełyk do tego aksamitność i treściwość, wszystko to daje piwo które mimo swojej mocy i złożoności pije się przymnie - spore zaskoczenie

I have a hopelessly romantic attachment to stories. If a brew has a good backstory, I’ll likely be seduced. For me, the story behind Aventinus and its fateful frozen travel is the stuff of beer lore. Since I’m a sucker for just that kind of thing, I decided I needed to try. The chance to try my first Eisbock was also compelling. On both fronts, Schneider’s Eisbock was a victory; it won over my brain and palate. The flavors of dark fruit are huge and syrupy. Goddamn if the beautifully-tempered alcohol heat doesn’t warm you down to the marrow.

0,33l Flasche. Tiefbraunes Nier mit relativ kleiner Schaumkrone. Riecht nach Rosinen, leicht nach Portwein. Schmeckt angenehm nach Pflaumen und Feigen, dabei verliert es nicht das charakteristische Hefearoma. Lecker!

Poured from bottle (missed it from tap, bummer!) at Braukunst Live München 2015.
Brown body, with a medium, creamy, beige head.
Lovely aroma of dried fruits, dark berries, marzipan, various sweet malts.
Taste follows this, with more alcohol, but not as much as in other Eisbock beers.
Full, creamy mouthfeel, with a quite lively carbonation.
Finishes alcoholic, a bit astringent, sweet/sour fruity, malty, a bit bitter.

Tasty! Clearly the best Eisbock at all. Much more balanced and less alcoholic than all beers of this style I’ve had. Drinks quite smooth for this ABV, with tons of lovely sweet, dark malts.

Massive pleasant surprise! Considered Eisbock to be a gimmicky style - the equivalent of Heston Blumenthal cooking with liquid nitrogen. But, just as Mr HB has a Michelen Star or two, Scheider Weisse is a considerable force in their sphere and this is something quite special. It’s an opaque reddish brown, with a fleeting white head. A nice medium body with a slightly oily feel. Nose has dark fruit - stewed prunes with a malty edge. There’s also a herby mulled wine character to the aroma and taste - very like Old Peculier. In the mouth there is raisin, dark malt, traces of cardamom and vanilla and just a bit of that Weizen banana and clove. Fantastic!
