COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aventinus, the Wheat Doppelbock of Bavaria, has always been known to be the most intense and complex wheat beer in the world. This was the case for the past sixty years, but not anymore...
Up until the 1940’s, Aventinus was shipped all over Bavaria in containers lacking temperature control. Consequently, the precious drink partially froze during transportation. Unaware that the brew was concentrated by the separation of water from the liquid. People were baffled by this unique version of Aventinus. By chance, the first Aventinus Eisbock was created.
Well aware of this story, Hans Peter Drexler, brewmaster of the Schneider brewery, decided to recreate this classic "mistake" in a modern controlled facility. Thus, the Aventinus Eisbock is reborn sixty years later ... Prost!

Thanks Jeff!!!!! Ruby brown with a small skiff floating on top what is pretty good for the 12%. Sweet yet intensely sour apple candy, oak, sock like funk. What do the malts smell like..... I can’t but my finger on it. Sweet apple with a nice alcohol warming finish. Caramel, candy sugar, perfume, apples, wood, more stuff with stuff that taste like stuff. Good stuff!

Bottle. Pours cloudy dark brown amber with a beautiful creamy two finger off-white head. Aroma of malt, ripe dark fruits, blommer in madeira (plums), slight burnt sugar, ripe banana and some yeast and toast. Slight clove and wheat. Taste is quite sweet. Wheat, yeast, malt, banana, plums, burnt caramel, cloves, brown sugar, toasty finish. Full creamy body, low carbonation, warming alcohol in finish. Really nice winter warmer! Love the glass.

Strong fusel fruity aroma with a hint of caramel. Nice murky swamp-water body but the head dissipates almost immediately. Flavour is strong wood notes, thick and chewy on the mouth with hints of molasses and sugar. Very sweet and oily. Heavy and rich, rather intense, but quite cloying. Unbalanced and overpowering.

In nose- champange like notes, also dried fruits, raisin, plum. Full and strong in taste, few alcohol notes in finnish. Dark fruits and caramel in taste, very sweet and full mouthfeel- syrup like. Clear dark amber colour with little to no head.

Pours cloudy as a typical wheat ale. Aroma of dried figs. Tastes of maraschino cherries and prunes. Despite 12% abv its doesn’t taste boozy. Great winter ale!

Smooth, not bitter or hoppy. Awesome after taste almost like a pinot noir. Rather expensive, but a nice treat.

Aroma of malt, some sugary sweetness, raisins, plums, maybe fig and dates?. Taste is the same. Almost has a bit of a oaky feel. Strong but very balanced. Doesn't taste sweet (sweet, but not sugary sweet) for how strong it is, almost has a bit of a Belgian quad feel to it. Very complex. Dark fruits, lots of malt, lots of flavor. Very nice winter beer in front of a fireplace. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
