COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aventinus, the Wheat Doppelbock of Bavaria, has always been known to be the most intense and complex wheat beer in the world. This was the case for the past sixty years, but not anymore...
Up until the 1940’s, Aventinus was shipped all over Bavaria in containers lacking temperature control. Consequently, the precious drink partially froze during transportation. Unaware that the brew was concentrated by the separation of water from the liquid. People were baffled by this unique version of Aventinus. By chance, the first Aventinus Eisbock was created.
Well aware of this story, Hans Peter Drexler, brewmaster of the Schneider brewery, decided to recreate this classic "mistake" in a modern controlled facility. Thus, the Aventinus Eisbock is reborn sixty years later ... Prost!

Poured from $5 / 11.2 oz’er - Wow! Don’t think I have encountered something like this before! Quite intense ruddy hues and intense flavors! Lots of alcohol comes through, but it blends well the malts and smooth wheat. Very happy to encounter this heavy-hitter in battle.

In bottiglia a circa 3 anni dall’imbottigliamento. Colore marrone scuro, quasi nero con velature rossastre, schiuma poco persistente. Aroma di frutta secca, fichi, nocciola, frutta sotto spirito. Al palato molto corposa, frutta secca, datteri, fichi, nota etilica ancora un pò pungente. Finale intenso fruttato, lieve tostato e cioccolato.

Bottle from Fresh Fields Market, Croydon, it pours dark mahogany brown with a quickly dissipating beige head. The nose is rich, bitter - sweet, caramel, plenty of dried fruits, date, fruit cake, glacé cherry, rich spice, brown sugar, earth and brandy. The taste is rich, bitter - sweet, so much dried fruits, raisin, dried cherry, fruit cake, light spice, good alcohol boost, cherry cola, chewy malt, caramel, earth and toast with warming, woody finish. Medium - full body and moderate carbonation. Quite the beverage. Strong and revitalising!
