COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aventinus, the Wheat Doppelbock of Bavaria, has always been known to be the most intense and complex wheat beer in the world. This was the case for the past sixty years, but not anymore...
Up until the 1940’s, Aventinus was shipped all over Bavaria in containers lacking temperature control. Consequently, the precious drink partially froze during transportation. Unaware that the brew was concentrated by the separation of water from the liquid. People were baffled by this unique version of Aventinus. By chance, the first Aventinus Eisbock was created.
Well aware of this story, Hans Peter Drexler, brewmaster of the Schneider brewery, decided to recreate this classic "mistake" in a modern controlled facility. Thus, the Aventinus Eisbock is reborn sixty years later ... Prost!

500ml bottle. Pours a clear dark reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma has VERY evident alcohol, yeast, banana, faint cherry, and dried fruits. Taste is very heavy on dried fruits, impressively so. Sweet, with molasses, dark malts, again dried fruits aplenty, and a finish of alcohol and dried cherries. A BIG beer in every way. This is going to knock me on my a@#. Impressive.

Very dark brown pour with a large (though quickly disappearing) beige head. Classic Eisbock with some stronger stickier dark fruits. Prune danish. Candied black cherry puree. Chocolate liquorice. Pretty good

Bottle from Fresh Fields Market, Croydon, it pours dark mahogany brown with a quickly dissipating beige head. The nose is rich, bitter - sweet, caramel, plenty of dried fruits, date, fruit cake, glacé cherry, rich spice, brown sugar, earth and brandy. The taste is rich, bitter - sweet, so much dried fruits, raisin, dried cherry, fruit cake, light spice, good alcohol boost, cherry cola, chewy malt, caramel, earth and toast with warming, woody finish. Medium - full body and moderate carbonation. Quite the beverage. Strong and revitalising!

0,33 Flasche vom E-Center Stengel.

Pours a thick, dark, cloudy brown with no head. Aromas of banana, raisins, alcohol, fruitcake and honey. Flavours bring banana, caramel, alcohol, molasses, and raisins. Hints of smoke in the late palate. Thick bodied with a light carbonation that occasionally pokes the tongue. Sweet, fruit cake finish.

Very similar to Aventinus but less head. Banana clove wheat and malts. Warming alcohol. Fig and raisin. The malty mixture and booze are strong with this one. Badass.
