Deep and complex – for big and relaxing moments by the fire.

Dark-ruby colored wheat doppelbock with a creamy fine head. Strong notes of ripe bananas, raisins and plums meet liquorice and roasty aromes. Full-bodied and warming, with a well-balanced and smooth finish. The ideal companion for hearty roast meat, venison and also fruity chocolate desserts, “Kaiserschmarrn” (pancakes), “Elisenlebkuchen” (christmas cookies) or blue cheese.

Barwa ciemnobursztynowa o jednolitym zmętnieniu, piana obfita, średniotrwała, głównie średniopęcherzykowa, lekko beżowa, lacingu brak. Zapach palonego słodu, gdzieś w tle karmel z lekką świeżością. Niezbyt intensywny. W smaku nie jest zanadto intensywne. Spodziewałem się czegoś totalnie mocniejszego, zwłaszcza biorąc pod uwagę alkohol i ekstrakt. Tutaj jest dość spokojnie, przyciszony klimat. Goryczka jest średnia, nie zalegająca. Bardzo pijalne. Piwo jest takie, jakie powinno być.

Una dopllebock perfetta. Di colore ebano, presenta una schiuma cremosa persiste e fine di color nocciola. I primi odori che vengono fuori sono di banana, prugna e di tostato. il corpo è ben strutturato e i malti sono molto aromatici (cioccolato, tostato). Buona beveribilità grazie alla poco briosità, persistenza ottima

Vierte marrón oscuro anaranjado con media cabeza de espuma que perdura largo rato; en nariz aromas a caramelo, cerezas y uvas pasas, entrada suave y maltosa con notas ácidas y leve amargor, cuerpo ligero con carbónico medio-alto, siguen notas a malta tostada, pos gusto largo y algo picante, cerveza refrescante fácil de beber pero bastante alcohólica; no muy compleja y se hacen largos sus 50 cl.

Flasche (50 cl) aus einer Getränke-Hoffmann-Filiale, Berlin (Abfülldatum: 13.02.14). - Sehr tiefes Kupferrot, trüb, üppige Schaumkrone. - In der Nase überreife Banane, etwas Zimt, im Hintergrund vielversprechende fruchtig-herbe Noten (Mango, Erdbeere). - Antrunk sahnig und füllig mit Banane, Birne, Zimt und Nelke aber auch komplexen fruchtig-säuerlichen, an Weihnachtsgewürz erinnernden Noten (Schwarze Johannisbeere, Orange, Muskatnuß), die die füllige dunkle Malzsüße in Schach halten. Mild rezent aber spritzig, weich und sahnig im Mund. Im Abgang nur milde fruchtige Herbe, leicht pfeffriger Hopfen. Der Alkohol bleibt vornehm im Hintergrund und macht sich erst einige Zeit nach dem Leeren des Glases in fieser Weise bemerkbar. - Komplexe aber „runde“, füllige aber nicht breite Verdichtung bester Weizenbieraromen. Ein Hochgenuß selbst für Biertrinker wie mich, die Weizenbier in der Regel meiden.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2014 Tuerie intergalactique.Proche de l’Aventinus de cette même brasserie mais en plus "dilué".Tout y est et tout y est bien : les fruits secs (abricots, pruneau), les bananes cuites, sèches ou très mûres, le côté confiserie/bonbon.L’alcool réchauffant, le biscuité de l’ensemble et la très fine amertume.

Draft @ the wharf in Aalborg. Lots of ripe banana, biscuit, some plum. Hazy brown with thick tan head. Small head lasting. Moderate+ sweetness, light bitterness. Finish is sweet and long, fully body, oily texture, lively carbonation.

UPDATED: OCT 31, 2014 From Piligrim in Moscow. Hazy brown with a medium-sized beige head. Aroma of banana, wheat. Taste is banana, brown sugar, dark fruits. This is very nice. Can’t believe that it is 8.2%.

1 pint bottle, poured into a bell glass at approximately 45 degrees F. A: Pours the color of weak coffee or strong tea, pooling into the glass as a lovely shade of burnished copper, cloudy and murky with a red-copper sheen where light shines through along the sides of the glass. The head is a pale, faint tan, and lingers a while as a cap which leaves some sheet lacing that slowly slips back down to the surface. S: Toffee-sprinkled wheat bread dipped in caramel, slathered in some banana and grape preserves. T: A malt explosion, all toffee-caramel bread. Hints of banana and cloves swim through the sweetness, alongside some faint grape-raisin-black cherry echoes. There’s a touch of herbaceous bitterness to the finish, and oddly, I get more alcohol heat from the Aventinus than the Aventinus Eisbock. M: A tad on the thin side, towards watery, but still somewhat sticky, with lively carbonation. O: A phenomenal doppelbock, managing to keep the focus on sweetness, malt, and fruit flavors, without much of a noticeable hop presence. In a straight comparison, I’d choose the eisbock version every time, but that is an entirely different category of beer.
