Deep and complex – for big and relaxing moments by the fire.

Dark-ruby colored wheat doppelbock with a creamy fine head. Strong notes of ripe bananas, raisins and plums meet liquorice and roasty aromes. Full-bodied and warming, with a well-balanced and smooth finish. The ideal companion for hearty roast meat, venison and also fruity chocolate desserts, “Kaiserschmarrn” (pancakes), “Elisenlebkuchen” (christmas cookies) or blue cheese.

Oldest wheat doppelbock of Bavaria. Since 1907. 18.5°

Bottle. This is simply wonderful. The carbonation is perfect and it has a nice flavor which has a complex array of fruity sweetness and spiciness that stays on your tongue for quite a while. The only downside is it can linger for a just a tad bit and there seems to be a bitter note in there some where.

Bottle in honour of Dortmunder. Found in Peckham’s. Sparkling dark ruby with rocky persistant head. Aroma of chocolate, bananas, apples, caramel. Sweet and wheaty in the mouth, with a warming sweet finish. Jolly good stuff.

Aroma: vanilla ice-cream, hops, foam candy, malt, baking yeast, cinnamon, cloves, seville orange, raisins, molasses, fruity and berryish, chocolate, vanillin. Raisin brown, pretty cloudy. Off-white, fizzy head. Bitter, well balanced, round sweetness, sweet aftertaste, sourish, soft. Warming, fizzy, round, fantastic.

Bottle: Deep ruby pour. Nice frothy head. Bubbly and crisp initially on the palate, but warms up nicely. Hint of fruit, finishes clean. Superb!

My first weizenbock, and it was worth the wait. The appearance wasn’t inspiring: cloudy, mud-coloured, with a small head, but the aroma and taste were full of good things. Fruity and sweet with plenty of yeast, this was a wonderful, warming alcoholic beer; easy to drink, utterly delicious.

Bottle. This one’s for ’dortmunder’. Pours a beautiful hazy deep red/brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweetish and yeasty and gets a vinous touch as it warms. Flavour is sweet and fruity with yeast and alcohol. My first weizenbock - it’s interesting to suddenly having a weizen with lots of alcohol. 01-11-05.

This beer left me with a sickly-sweet taste that I didn’t care for at all. The nose also gave off this same quality. At least it’s good and strong.

this one is for dortmunder, we’ll miss you. lots of sweetness in the aroma, banana, clove, wheat. the flavor is the same, but there is a little bit of abv presence, which is surprising for only 8%. a little thin in the body department, but enjoyable nonetheless. Peace out, Robert.

Fukito (991) - Santiago, CHILE - OCT 29, 2005
Bottle - October 2005 Pours an amber colour, with a big rocky and lasting beige head whiceh leaves a beatifull lacing as I sip this one. Arome is yeasty and spicy (maybe a touch of lemon). Taste is very complex: banana, clove, sweet for a moment, tart for another, you can feel the 8% but it doesn´t burns. Mouthfeel is thick with all flavours convexing in a very complex experience. Aftertaste is somewhat tart, sweet and spicy at the same time. Overall a very nice, complex and strong Dunkel, it was really nice trying this one!!

UPDATED: FEB 8, 2006 THis is what I am talking about, was a Heffeweizen, but not only that, it had this Bock flavor too, my two favorite beers, plus Lambic, combined in one.
