4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Wow, what an amazingly complex, but balanced beer. Pours out to a deep-red/brown color in the glass. Aroma of dark fruit and malt. Sweet plum flavor initially, followed by a hint of spice, a bit of the hefe-bubblegum flavor. Only the slightest warming hint of the high alcohol. There must be some bitterness there to balance the sweetness, it’s just hard to find. Not a beer that you could hammer, but it is very easy drinking and leaves you wanting another bottle...

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ Brew Kettle: Hazy mohogany brown w/ a very light beige, lasting very dense head. Heavy wheat malt & clove spice; bubble gum, banana, light plum fruitiness...Very nice!!! Well balanced w/ some spicy clove & peppery yeast flavor; wheat malt flavor; dry finish. banana and plum esters are not quite as strong as in the aroma. Aftertaste is wheat malt. Highly carbonated, medium body, very smooth, alcohol well hidden. Damn fine beer!!!! Classic of the style, although it is rivaled by Plank for this particular style. Dangerously drinkable given the well hidden alcohol.

nice weizen bock.... pours out dark brown color with a hint of sweetness in the smell. the carbonation was actually mind blowing, it fizzed more than a soft drink! but it didnt effect the taste and make it taste like champagne, so that was ok. taste was sweet and sort of malty with no presence of hops in any way shape or form. quite a nice beer, that i could drink alot of. seemed more of a session beer than anything else.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Nice sweet and malty aroma of caramel and apple. Light citrus and banana in there too. Pours a transparent dark reddish-brown with a fizzy head that diminishes quickly. Flavor is real sweet with lots of fruit. Definite apple, some raison, light banana, citrus and some light caramel. Light sourness in the finish.

Great weizenbock, but doesn’t compare to Ramstein Winter Wheat brewed right her in the Garden state. Could be a little maltier. I also find it to be way overcarbonated.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: SEP 24, 2007 Murky dark brown with some sediment and a big bubbly head. Aroma consists of banana, alcohol and clove. Flavor very yeasty with some light fruity esters, mostly banana and plum. Thins out near finish, slightly alcoholic. More carbonation would bring out the flavors and improve mouthfeel. As much as it pains me to say, I do enjoy the newer weizenbock on the block more.
