4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Very light and grainy in the nose, but it pours a wicked murky brown with a thin head that dissapears quick. The taste is an awesome blend. Spicey, but not overpowering, sweet, but not cloying, hopped, but not blindingly bitter. A very, very well balanced beer, never any blatant alcohol tinges for such a strong beer, this is a wonderful dark wheat.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Slightly cloudy dark amber appearance. Nice plum-like aroma. The flavor starts very strongly with the banana clove flavor from the yeast with a alcohol flavor also present. Finish is slightly tart but very pleasent. Only bad thing was the high level of carbonation. Maybe this varies since it’s bottle fermented.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
One of my favorites. Used to be my second favorite (behind Kasteel Bruin), but after my beer tasting vacation, it may drop down a little. Nice rich, spicy beer with all the flavors of a good hefeweizen a dopplebock combined. It’s not as sweet as a dopplebock though. Excellent beer

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: FEB 14, 2003 The only drawback to this was that the bock maltiness covered up the expected spiciness of the wheat style. Very dark. very colourful. Good head.

Musty purple brown colour. Caramelized bananas blend perfectly with the wheat in the nose. Lingering halo around the glass, with constant bubbles. Creamy and sweet, with just a hint of banana, just enough for a good flavour, even though I don’t generally like banana flavour. Great balance of yeast, malt, spices (cloves), and sweet honey and caramel. Mouth watering finish.

UPDATED: DEC 27, 2011 When poured a large head formed and it slowly disipated. Clovish flavor and aroma. A full bodied beer. The more I drank the more it grew on me.

Poured a big head but it didn’t last. Dark brown with ruby tones. Had a big chunk of yeast on the bottom which I swirled off. Has the typical-for-the-style banana, yeast flavors. Alcohol well hidden. Very good.

Huge dense head. Awesome in that it is just the right amount of bitter, alcohol, and wheat.

Thinner than I expected, but no less in terms of complexity. I will have to try it again to get a better rating.

Pretty good. Not much head, but I poured slowly. Spicy clove and bananas are in this beer. Caramel and wheat is present... some alcohol is noticeable along with the malty sweetness. Nice full body. The sourness lingers for a while, but it isn’t unpleasant.
