3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy yellow/orange appearance. Nice layer of head along with descent lacing throughout the consumption. Banana and clove aromas abound. A slight chocolate flavor is hid under banana and clove. Good balance of malt to give it some excellent body. It went quite well with my fondue dinner the other night.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark amber and cloudy. Strong wheat and yeast aromas, mingled with banana and clove. Surprisingly malty flavors along with your typical sour wheat beer flavors, with just a hint of chocolate on the finish. This beer is obviously well made and I enjoyed drinking it, but I miss the whole "refreshment" element of the wheat beer experience with this one.

This beer is filled with delight! Aroma of clove spice, apples, bananas and yeast. Flavors are complex and long lasting. Has a clean freshness about it. 8% alc well hidden. Overall, enjoyable. Probably my favorite weizen bock.

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2005 Bottle. Really nice, wheat/fruit (bananna + others) readily apparent.. alcohol is well hidden but still warming.. This was great. (4.1) RERATE: Banana filled and loads of alcohol, much as before. Sweet and fruity, a little too carbonated, more watery than I remember. Drops a couple of points.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
0.5 L bottle. Hazy brown with reddish tones, and a soft and creamy head. Full, but still fresh, aroma with fruity components from citrus to plums. Nicely complex flavour in good balance between alcohol, bitterness and the concentrated taste of dried fruits, especially plums and raisins. On drinking the beer feels smooth from the foam touches your lips and until the glass is empty - even if not consumed in one draught! Excellent!

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2004 First off I have to comment on the fact that there is an ad for a jewsih singles website in my right frame on my screen. Awesome!! No offense to the Jewish Ratebeerians.
This brew was my longstanding favorite for months...nothing could top it. To drink one was an occasion in and of itself. Pours a seductively chocolate color. Look spritzy like any good wheat beer. Smells like...ohh my goodness...ohhh...smells like my nose is going to have kids in nine months..conception. Smells like a deep dark pit of goodness. The malts in this beer are so infinitely enjoyable I can’t contain myself. Notes of raisin, plum, chocolate and a sourness to be rivasled only by my socks. Tastes lovely. Evaporates on your tongue like champagne. Has a very interesting take on the soy saltiness of most dopplebocks. Tastes mostly on the back of my tounge (like Chimay Bleu, or other fine quadruppel’s) Leaves a nice refreshingly tingly carbonation in your hole.

Bottle pours murky reddish brown, milky off-white head, light lacing, with numerous streams of bubbles eminating from the depths. Wheat malts, cloves, and banana on the nose. Forwardly wheaty, with hints of the aformentioned cloves and bananas. Wonderful mouthfeel, full bodied, a bit too much on the carbonation side but its overlookable. Solid flavor throughout, from beginning to finish. I don’t think I could say enough about this beer other than its my absolute undeniable favorite Weizen Bock, and overall one of my favorites of all styles. This is a must try!
