3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: MAY 29, 2006 Pours a murky dark brown with red hue, nice aivory head. Mainly a roasted malt and brown sugar sweetness taste, then some slight banana and other dark sweetness like caramel, this being a re-rate it tasted way better the first time I had it, now it just seems average but still good and very drinkable.

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2006 Aventinus is like a good friend that you continue to return to. Every time you see that friend, it is slightly different, and there’s always something new to learn. This was my first favorite beer, and it will always retain a special place in my beer palate. My palate has turned to hoppy beers recently, so I am not as in love with it as I once was, but when I lean towards malt, this is what I lean for. Just phenomenal

Pours a dark brown with a huge head. Mine went over the sides of the glass. Aroma is malty and fruity. Flavor is cloves and lots of them! I also get some roasted malts and a touch of banana. Very good and very tasty.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
From a bottle. Very dark kind of Wheat Beer. A nice strong taste that doesn’t taste like it’s an 8%er. A bit too fizzy for my taste really but still rather nice.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2005 rerate..., very drinkable and enjoyable. Dark brown, decent head dissipating fairly quickly. Malty and sweet. A little acidic, but it rolls across the tongue in such in a nice way. Just ok.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark ruby red colour with lively head. Aroma is powerfull with a clear malty sweetness, some caramel and figs. Flavor has a nice sweetness with again caramel and figs, just hints of the alcohol in the finish.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cloudy, brown body with a fluffy, tan head. Aroma is sweet with a small bit of alcohol. Taste is combination of chocolate, fruit, and and spice. The texture is what makes this beer even more phenomenal. So many layers, this is awesomely satisfying.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Well, lets pour this one...nice colour, like a dark cloudy tea, nice off white head that clings to the sides of the glass on tilting to the mouth.
The aroma is malty yet fruity.
The taste is excellent...a real good beer, complex without being too busy.fruity, plum like on first entering the mouth, goes slightly spicey as the carbonation kicks in and then finishes malty.
Lots of body and creamy.
I could not drink more then a couple of these at a sitting as they are quite strong, and would soon be unable to tell it from any other good beer.(well I could easily drink a dozen if I was going for the buzz and often I do!!!)..but it is a nice treat and I will buy this one again.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle - nice malty, wheaty aroma with no bitterness at all. Very nice appearance - medium brown, but with an almost purple hue when held to the light. An almost creamy white head covering. The first flavor that hits me is alcohol ... unexpected. Of course there is malt and wheat and then, very late a hint of sourness and bitterness. A sharply fizzy mouthfeel. A nice one!
