3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 10, 2008 My re-rate: Pleasant, malty aroma - with just a decent amount of wheatiness. Not bitter at all. Big, lush head on first pour leads to soapy bubbles around the sides of the glass. Mostly I aste the caramel,. clove/raisin in the flavor, next to the full array of maltiness. A bit of apples seems to stick with me from this beer as well. Somewhat chewy finish.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Long lasting head? There’s no head at all. The color is nice, but the carbonation is too high. Pleasant, fruity, yeasty aroma. Slight hints of fruit and yeast in the flavor. There isn’t much going on here. The body is very thin, and the finish is watery. I’m not exactly sure how this made it into the top 50.

Banana wheat bread. Very nicely hopped with a wonderfully rounded finish almost reminiscent of a sour cherry. Very nice beer.

Pretty good. Lots of fruit and hops up in the taste. Not as good as the Celebrator, but still quality.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Incredible aroma, with baking banana nut bread, clove, toffee, just a slight hint of citrus and a touch of alcohol for good measure. Ample head, light tan streaked with darker bottle-runnings (swirled and poured) and lasting at least a day. Attractive, opaque deep reddish-caramel color with a good bit of sediment. Flavor is very satisfyingly malty, with some toffee, doughy, estery and spicy yeasts, date, nut and again a light dosage of alcohol. Finish is creamy and quite long, lightly astringent and full of yeast and malt flavor. Full bodied and with a satisfyingly thick, velvety mouthfeel. This is the rightful standard by which all other Weizen Doppelbocks are judged.

UPDATED: FEB 10, 2003 I love this beer. I tried it after seeing it mentioned on here and only have good things to say about it. Only thing I do not like is the clove taste I get when I first start a bottle. After that its all good!
Had to re-rate because I keep buying the stuff and loving it more...

Remember the first time I heard about this. Thought it was crazy for a split second before thinking that I like both styles weiis and bock. Works remarkably well. Loads of fruity, yeast. malty flavors. A tad syrupy, but not a major complaint. Prost!
