Deep and complex – for big and relaxing moments by the fire.

Dark-ruby colored wheat doppelbock with a creamy fine head. Strong notes of ripe bananas, raisins and plums meet liquorice and roasty aromes. Full-bodied and warming, with a well-balanced and smooth finish. The ideal companion for hearty roast meat, venison and also fruity chocolate desserts, “Kaiserschmarrn” (pancakes), “Elisenlebkuchen” (christmas cookies) or blue cheese.

Oldest wheat doppelbock of Bavaria. Since 1907. 18.5°

From Hall’s in Colleyville, TX. Pours a dark brown with a fluffy tan head. Aroma of sweet dark fruits and a touch of caramel. Aroma’s just about perfect. Flavor of cloves, sweet dark fruit, caramel. Texture is very nice on the tongue. Nice beer.

One pint, 0.9 oz (500 mL) brown bottle purchased from Warehouse Liquors, Chicago, IL Hazy brown beer having small diminishing off-white head. Nice aroma of spice (clove), toffee, and apricot. Soft carbonation. Full bodied with a creamy oily texture that starts with smooth spicy, light sweet malt, toffee and smoke flavors. Finishes dry with light clove and sweet malt aftertaste. Rich complex flavors and aroma. High gravity. A fabulous wheat dopplebock, one of my favorite beers that I hope to enjoy over and over again.

Pours an amber orange color. White head that stays afloat for a good while. Aroma is definately wheaty. You can always tell a wheat beer. Touch of alcohol, estery. Flavor is wheaty and kinda fruity. Very decent beer, easy to drink, rich, full flavor. Well done.

This beer pours a real dark amber color with a small htan head. It has a roasty malted smell and a rich smokey malt flavor w/ a hint of chocolate that lingers. Cheers!

In the 0.5L bottle at the Huber Haus. Very intense beer. Strong clove aroma with a tough of smoke. Thick sweet fruit and wheat flavors. Big on esters. Serious alcohol, very chewy and filling. Just a great beer to look at with that merangue pie thick head.

(500 ml bottle) Cloudy brownish body, very large biege head. Aroma gluey. Spotty lacing. Tastes of alcoholic, malty sweetness along with the glue-like quality I associate with wheat beers. Smooth mouthfeel. Alcohol in this one will mellow you out. Not my favorite beer style but I appreciate its quality.

Pour is deep brown with reddish hue and a lasting foam head. Nose is wheat notes of banana and predominantly clove. Mouthfeel is full and silky with minimal carbonation. Flavor is wheat then sweeter malt tones of plum and more clove. Extremely well balanced and enjoyable. One of the best widely-accesible German brews. Noch einmal.
