4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: NOV 27, 2006 50cl bottle, just cool, tumbler. Pours a deep fuzzy mahogany with an amazingly active, noisy and abundant head, which subsides because my glass may be of questionable cleanliness. How many interesting interchanges of malts and yeast are manifested, all these fruits and a tinge of citrus. Clovey and banana evocations do not drown out the bockish balanced malty sweetness. Holy shit it’s eight percent ABV, a bit noticeable and drying on the tongue but than’s okay. - if this were Belgian would we rate it in the hundredth percentile, ha ha... . Excellent, thank you Germany, I’ll be back for more.
R.I.P. Dortmunder 2005, I tip out some of this amazing elixir to your memory... Prost!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: SEP 25, 2007 (bottle) Pale dark ruby to brown colour, medium off-white head. Intense banana aroma rounded up with little yeast. Very creamy palate. Absolutely well balanced, a cornucopia of flavours. The alcohol becomes present slowly after a few sips. A heartwarming Weizen Bock, one of the best I had so far.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Fabulous ferocious German weizenbock. Poured a mahogany colour with a lasting head that laced beautifully. Aroma has cloves, toffee and tangy orange characters. Dominant flavours are dark chocolate, toffee and dark malts. Terrific winter drinking. (Bottle)

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Caramel and orange citrus aromas with a hint of cloves. Very dark in the glass, with some purple glow around the edges. Large beige head, which diminishes after a time, and lots of fine lacing. Mouthfeel is gently carbonated and full. There’s a long mottled finish with bitterness and breadiness intermingling. I can taste through to the wheat in this weizen bock, even though there is so much else going on here. A very fine specimen.

Bottled. Dark brown in colour, beige foamy head. Fruity citric aroma with some malty hints. Fruity malty flavour with hints of alcohol. Sticky palate. Long aftertaste of alcohol and fruit. Also some weak hints of "gingerbread". Very different beer.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
From bottle. Oh my! Loved this right from the first sniff. Pours translucent goldy brown with big foamy light tan head and plenty of fine effervescence. Big estery aroma with sweet caramel, banana and clove tones. Aroma is true to the taste, and it is so smooth that the reasonably high alcohol is barely noticeable. YUM!! Bummer..now I have to go back and down-rate my old favourite (Weinstephan Hefeweissbeir).

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
One of the best beers I’ve ever drank. Pours a deep, cloudy brownish purple body with a enormous foamy light biege head. Nice caramel, clove, and cherry aroma. Has a nice tangy weizen taste with a great bock sweetness. Smooth. Alcohol is hidden pretty well. Perfect malty balance. Very good beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours with huge creamy tan head than lasts and lasts. Color looks cloudy brown in glass until held up to the light where it looks more clear and red. Looks great in the glass. Aroma is banana, clove, yeast, and malt. This is flavorful stuff. It is moderately sweet, moderately bitter, with caramel, fruit, and some spice to it. Finish has a light alcohol note. This has a great mouthfeel, initial full body but finishes light and fizzy. Pretty good stuff I will be re-rating sometime in the future.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Comes out of the bottle very thick and creamy with a powerful head. The taste is a blend of cloves, malt, and caramel. Pleasant and long-lasting.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
This one is up there with the best beers that I have ever had. Rich and complex, and even better than the concentrated version which I find a bit hot (alcoholic tasting) unless chilled.
