Deep and complex – for big and relaxing moments by the fire.

Dark-ruby colored wheat doppelbock with a creamy fine head. Strong notes of ripe bananas, raisins and plums meet liquorice and roasty aromes. Full-bodied and warming, with a well-balanced and smooth finish. The ideal companion for hearty roast meat, venison and also fruity chocolate desserts, “Kaiserschmarrn” (pancakes), “Elisenlebkuchen” (christmas cookies) or blue cheese.

Oldest wheat doppelbock of Bavaria. Since 1907. 18.5°

Bruin troebel bier met schuim, Tap 6 volgens etiket. Smaak is complex, licht zoet en licht bitter, caramel, fruitig, bier met "body", absoluut een van de beste Weizen ooit gedronken.

Pours a murky red-brown with a huge, foamy off-white head. Nose is dried fruits and a cider-like spunk. Taste is slightly sweet. Caramel comes through while sipping. Medium body. Lively carbonation. Very nice! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This bottle was brewed in 2008 so it might have fallen off a tad but it is still full of warm malt and clove. There is little banana left. Nice full mouthfeel with a lingering finish. A fair amount of carbonation with a 3 finger head that settles quickly to a thin rim being quickly replaced from below. A wonderful beverage! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12.9 oz. bottle vertically poured to a logoed, proprietary glass at Lunar Brewing Co., producing a thick & frothy, light tan layer that lasted persistently on top of the cloudy, amber highlighted, brown colored liquid, leaving ribbons & patches of clingy lacing. The nose was tart & juicy, kind of prune juice-like, with additional esters as pit fruit skin, and spice as subtle clove. Medium bodied, with only average carbonation, partly due to the pour, and some creaminess to the mouthfeel, the taste was more as a blend of dried fruit and some dark varieties, with complementary alcohol included. Probably a bit of age on this bottle, although I didn’t receive Chuck’s discount, but still damn smooth and tasty as the benchmark for the style.

On tap at The International. Pours reddish dark brown. Wintery warm nose. Strong taste, spices, but only a little bit of Weizen left. Enough to notice, still. A must-try indeed.

8.2% ABV. Weizenbock. Pours out with a fine thick head. Deep caramel coloring. Nice thick malty nose. First mouth feel is smooth and mellow. Not much in the way of hops with the nice warm and mellow embrace of toasted barley and malt dominating the entire experience. It’s like falling into the arms of an old lover, it’s comfortable, sensual and oh so pleasurable to be home. The 8.2 % ABV guarantees that warm "just loved" feel. Very nice indeed. Food pairing ideas: charcoal grilled chicken wings, steamed sea bass with ginger.
