Deep and complex – for big and relaxing moments by the fire.

Dark-ruby colored wheat doppelbock with a creamy fine head. Strong notes of ripe bananas, raisins and plums meet liquorice and roasty aromes. Full-bodied and warming, with a well-balanced and smooth finish. The ideal companion for hearty roast meat, venison and also fruity chocolate desserts, “Kaiserschmarrn” (pancakes), “Elisenlebkuchen” (christmas cookies) or blue cheese.

Oldest wheat doppelbock of Bavaria. Since 1907. 18.5°

This is one good looking beer. Pours a deep carmel color with a booming cream head. Nice yeast aroma with hints of cloves (as advertised). Flavor is bold with carmel tones, good alcohol, and mild fruit. Nice malt balance. Love the sour finish. No heavy linger on the palate. This is my first Weizen Bock....and very good.

Poured from a bottle into a Weizen Glass. Beautiful clear brown with tiny bubbles rising to a thick, frothy tan head. The head subsides with no lacing. Aroma is caramel and banana. Sweet, full body, thick on the palate with average carbonation. Long mellow finish. Very, very nice!

Damn well made doppelbock with wheat. Very nice full body and malt character complemented by the wheat grist. Schneider Weisse bar in Munich. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Schneider Bräuhaus. Aroma is fresh and clean with perhaps some perfumed citrus, banana and a little alcohol. Pours dark toffee with a thick head. Flavour is all fruit, with some raisins up front, a little apple and pear later and something a bit tropical left in the mouth. What really impresses is the smooth palate. Beautiful texture, and a lack of bitterness or sharpness helps hide the strength. Very nice.

From a bottle into a Ayinger glass. Pours brown with amber head and lace. Aroma of roasty malts and ripe bananas. Medium carbonation and significant mouthfeel. Flavors of roasty malts, ripe bananas, cooked raisins, minerals, cereal, slight bitter fruit rind. Overall rich, flavorful, complex but very tasty.

Bottle. Very nice beer but not perfect. Maybe I expected more...and the reality feel a bit short. Nice color, good feel one the tongue and so on. Still not quite a top ten beer for me.

$4.49 bottle, Wine Warehouse. I’ve shaken this thing up because I saw sediment at the bottom of the bottle, so I’m letting it sit for a bit. Pours murky brown with a large beige head. Looks like apple cider, non-alcoholic kind that sits in jugs in the fall on grocery store shelves. Smells of apple cider, in a way, or perhaps that’s the psychology... Caramels and banana too... Taste is bittersweet banana, spice, alcohol. Very nice, very smooth.

Bottle 500ml. Served at cellar temperature. Pours a deep, murky copper. Head is beige, large, foamy and mostly lasting. Aroma is dominated by strong notes of cloves and banana bread with bubblegum, caramel, raisins, milk chocolate, coriander seeds (light) and a pinch of cinnamon and ginger powder. Flavour is smooth with a very light bitterness; cloves, dried banana, (sweet) brown bread rolls, brown sugar, dried currants, red grapes, light spices (cinnamon/ginger) and notes of tangy wheat in the finish. Medium bodied with lively carbonation and a decent length finish. Deceptively well hidden ABV!
