Deep and complex – for big and relaxing moments by the fire.

Dark-ruby colored wheat doppelbock with a creamy fine head. Strong notes of ripe bananas, raisins and plums meet liquorice and roasty aromes. Full-bodied and warming, with a well-balanced and smooth finish. The ideal companion for hearty roast meat, venison and also fruity chocolate desserts, “Kaiserschmarrn” (pancakes), “Elisenlebkuchen” (christmas cookies) or blue cheese.

Oldest wheat doppelbock of Bavaria. Since 1907. 18.5°

Into a weizen glass. Two finger of tan head on a deep brown body. Smells like bread, hay and a little licorice. Great balance of the bitter and sweet. Slightly more sweet with a touch of sour at the end. Bubbly texture, moderate carbonation, slightly sticky. Delicious.

From Pilgrim in Moscow. Hazy brown with a medium-sized beige head. Aroma of banana, wheat. Taste is banana, brown sugar, dark fruits. This is very nice. Can’t believe that it is 8.2%.

1 pint bottle, poured into a bell glass at approximately 45 degrees F. A: Pours the color of weak coffee or strong tea, pooling into the glass as a lovely shade of burnished copper, cloudy and murky with a red-copper sheen where light shines through along the sides of the glass. The head is a pale, faint tan, and lingers a while as a cap which leaves some sheet lacing that slowly slips back down to the surface. S: Toffee-sprinkled wheat bread dipped in caramel, slathered in some banana and grape preserves. T: A malt explosion, all toffee-caramel bread. Hints of banana and cloves swim through the sweetness, alongside some faint grape-raisin-black cherry echoes. There’s a touch of herbaceous bitterness to the finish, and oddly, I get more alcohol heat from the Aventinus than the Aventinus Eisbock. M: A tad on the thin side, towards watery, but still somewhat sticky, with lively carbonation. O: A phenomenal doppelbock, managing to keep the focus on sweetness, malt, and fruit flavors, without much of a noticeable hop presence. In a straight comparison, I’d choose the eisbock version every time, but that is an entirely different category of beer.

From: Brewers Droop, Bristol How: Bottle (end dated 2015.06.18) Blood alc: 0mg/100ml Aroma hints banana and fruity / berry spices, some diacetyl. Big foamy lasting white head which lets through more spicey aroma as it slowly fades. Flavour is deep, fruity / estery with a little banana, a lot of spice and fairly dark but still having a lightness. Mouthfeel is silky smooth. The only thing I’m not so sure about is a slight plasticyness near the end of the mouthful, but I think that is just the wheat

Dark brown body with a beige head. Aroma is sweet dark fruits, some spice, malt. Taste is sweet with light bitterness. Very refreshing. Medium to thin body but mouthfeel is sleakier than what I expected from the looks. Very nice beer.

Bottle. Dark brown, cloudy, small to average and fully diminishing head. Moderate to full, malty – wheaty and sweetish aroma, banana and fruitiness with notes of "sahti". Body is medium to full, malty – wheaty and sweetish flavor, some fruitiness and banana, faint alcohol. Finish is average, malty –wheaty and sweetish, some fruitiness and light banana, light alcohol and spiciness.Fruity weizen bock - too sweet for me. Hides 8,2% well. OK but "Don’t Believe the Hype".

donker bruin met kaki kraag
aroma is heerlijk vol, volmoutig, rozijn, lichte chocolade, gist, banaan.
smaken zijn alcoholisch, rozijn, aardse mouttonen, banaan, glad maar ook romig, iets aan de dunne kant, matig zoet, zwak bitter, mooie zachte bock met goede smaken.
