4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Ungstrup (26250) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUL 2, 2003
The aroma is a sweet wheat aroma with good malt notes. The color is an unclear dark brown and it has the best head I've ever seen in the fantastic beutiful glass. The flavor is sweet, strong, with a powerful wheat note, and lesser alcohol notes. It starts out as a light beer - even though its so strong, but the palate and alcohol stregth hits You in the end. The best wheat beer I've ever had.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 yespr (25932) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - FEB 15, 2008
50 cL bottle. Pours slight hazy light brown with an off-white head. Wheaty, fruity and mild grainy aroma. Clove like flavour embedded in a solid wheat flavour, light caramel malt and a lingering almost dried fruity note. Ends with a lingering caramel malt and wheaty blend, mild note of spice inbetween. I like the way the wheat is downplayed - but it is still a wheat beer more than anything else.

(Bottle 50 cl) Dark brown and hazy with a gigantic head. Three malts with 60% being wheat. Dry slightly sweetish with a very potent body. Nice indeed. 011199

Bottled. Dark brown in colour, beige foamy head. Fruity citric aroma with some malty hints. Fruity malty flavour with hints of alcohol. Sticky palate. Long aftertaste of alcohol and fruit. Also some weak hints of "gingerbread". Very different beer.

UPDATED: JUN 10, 2010 Muddy brown with white head. Nutty caramel malts overall - quite simple - but extremely nice. Filling body. Light sweet. In a way unique. Deep malty & hints of yeast.
Re-rate june 2010. Had this several times. I am not to keen on the heavy wheat bocks. Fine for the style but would prefer a doppelbock any day. From 3,9 - 3,7
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 fiulijn (12179) - Malmö, DENMARK - JUL 4, 2003
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2011 2011-01-01, bottle, bb 03.12.04, ~8 years old, 6-3-6-3-13=31 Brown color; poor head retention. Mild aroma, caramel, oxidised. Fizzy texture, lean mouthfeel, with caramel flavor and some oxidisation; low bitterness and some alcohol feeling. Simple.
2009-03-17, draught at Ølbaren, Copenhagen, 9-5-8-4-17=43 Cloudy brown color; huge, thick head. Impressive aroma, with strong banana esters, but also spices (cloves), and clearly perfumy, soapy; later, bubblegum. Good body strength, caramel flavor, some residual sweetness (always less than I would like), nice mix of esters, delicate (banana, bubblegum and light cloves); the alcohol can be perceived, but it’s very low. Excellent.
2008-11-30, bottle, 4 years old, 7-4-7-3-14=35 Dark brown color; the big head reduces quickly, after some time it’s a still surface. It has a strong aroma of oxidized caramel, light vegetables and alcohol. Caramel flavor, lighty oxidized and nutty; the body is thinner than in a fresh bottle, and the bitterness almost gone. Interesting experience, but not the best beer for ageing.
2005-12-03, draught, 8-5-8-4-17=42 Cloudy dark amber color, big creamy head. Nice aroma, banana, malt. Medium body structure (but more than the bottles I tried recently), malty, fruity (banana), light herbs. Excellent!
2003-06-30, bottle, 8-5-9-4-17=43 Hazy amber color. Nice malt aroma and impressive body, malty, oily, wrapping, perfectly balanced. Powerful and very good!
